Spotify numbers are driven by TikTok now. if your song goes viral on TikTok you can have a hit. Guetta & Bebe and Sam & Kim songs went viral before release and now are on top of the chart.

but it will probably be difficult for many artists to release their songs because not every song can become a TikTok hit. and it will be very difficult for new artists to build longevity because TikTokers jump from one trend to another, they only care about viral song not about artist. Gayle's "abcdfu" had 5M streams daily but her second song debuted with only 130k streams.
