Freezie03 957
I thought it would be interesting to see a list of at least one memory relating to Lady Gaga for each year you were a fan of her. And try not to be something vague like "She released ARTPOP", try to make it more specific or personal I'll start as an example: 2012: Literally screaming in my house as my friends stared at me when my Mom got me tickets to the Born This Way Ball (ended up getting cancelled ) 2013: Crying to my parents asking why kids at school were bullying me for liking Lady Gaga and ARTPOP 2014: Literally crying at the release of the G.U.Y. video because it had Minecraft in it and I was the weird Minecraft kid at school 2015: Feeling like a bad bitch walking into school the morning after the Oscar's performance 2016: Embarrassing myself on the bus when someone said "name a Lady Gaga song" and I started singing A-YO really loud because it had just got released the previous day 2017: Fantasizing about what the A Star Is Born movie was gonna be like based on the pictures on set that were released 2018: Running into the movie theater at top speeds shouting "LADY GAGA!!" the day A Star Is Born came out 2019: Clowning on the LG6 Discussion thread, especially when I thought that the Met Gala 2019 was the sign of a new era 2020: Binging every Lady Gaga Performance and interview to get me through the boredom of the pandemic 2021: Going to five different stores trying to find the Chromatica oreos Submit yours I wanna hear some funny stories

HotLikeMexico 4,641
Honestly the funniest for me is still 2008 I heard Just Dance on MySpace randomly and was like oh this song sounds soo cool and fresh. I played it so much I ran it to the ground. A week later, I saw the MV was about to play on tv. When she appeared on the TV I was like wait… Lady Gaga is white??! I don’t know why I didn’t bother to look her up after first listening to Just Dance nor why in my mind I envisioned a black singer. Either way I laugh about it now. But a black Lady Gaga could’ve been so fierce too.
KubaM316 13,611
2009: One day my mum came home, typed something on YouTube and played Bad Romance (I bet she heard it on the radio). And that's how I learned about Gaga. 2010: Overplaying Bad Romance every single day, singing in my own made-up language (I didn't knew English yet) and trying to learn the choreo from the music video. We used to have a portable bath (I don't know if it's the right name - I just googled it) and I would take it into the bedroom, place it upside down on the floor, and I would recreate the Bath Haus scene. 2013: I was just flipping the channels on TV and I came across Your Face Sound Familiar IN THE SAME MOMENT when one of the participants was performing Bad Romance, and it immediately caught my attention. I guess if it wasn't for Gaga, I don't know if I'd ever get into this show. 2015: I found out that Hello Hello from my beloved movie Gnomeo and Juliet is sung by Elton and Gaga. 2016: I was singing some karaoke on ISing and this way I discovered Perfect Illusion. 2018: It was the time when I was slowly becoming obsessed with Gaga and started seeing her as something more than just another pop star that I liked. Not to mention spending days on watching lots of YouTube video about her (anyone remembers Government Gypsy?). 2019: I was sick and I needed to stay at home for few days, so I finally watched the AHS Hotel (just and only because Gaga was in it, hehe) and I loved it. 2020: Few hours before the VMAs we had a little watch party with people from GGD and I remember we couldn't find any site that would be streaming the show, and I'm pretty sure that at the end we finally found something but I feel asleep. 2021: Going to the movies theater and seeing House of Gucci. 2022: Watching The Chromatica Ball through Instagram livestreams and then going back on Twitter cause the livestream has ended and quickly trying to find another working link. 2School4Cool 6,159
2008: Being shocked to find out that the girl who sings Poker Face is the same girl who sings that Just Dance song 😮 2009: A local radio station refusing to play LoveGame because it was too sexual 2010: Alejandro being on the radio on repeat and never getting tired of it (despite not being a real Gaga fan yet) 2011: My mom buying the Born This Way album and me being completely mesmerized and obsessed 2012: Somehow feeling confident/delusional that one day there would be new BTWB tour dates and I’d somehow get to go to a show near me that wasn’t announced yet 🙃 2013: The unmatched excitement of my ARTPOP CD coming in the mail and seeing that it had the foil cover like I hoped it would. 2014: My grandparents being amazing and taking me to my first Gaga concert (my grandma still knows all the words to ARTPOP) 2015: Being thrilled that people loved her Oscars performance, after the public response to ARTPOP I was just thrilled to see people recognizing her vocal talent. 2016: The warm and cozy feeling I felt listening to Joanne, that album still feels like such a warm hug. 2017: My second Gaga concert. When Gaga asked who in the crowd was a part of the LGBTQ+ community and I screamed, my grandma wrapped her arm around me and gave me a hug. My grandpa had passed away two years earlier so we were emotional when she sang TEOG and Million Reasons. 2018: Crying when I saw ASIB in the movie theater. 2019: Being so proud when Joanne (piano version) won a Grammy, I was thrilled that such a special song to Gaga got such recognition even when it wasn’t even a hit single. 2020: Watching the iconic Chromatica era come together as the pandemic was just starting, and being proud of her for helping put together the One World: Together At Home show. 2021: Her beautiful performance of the national anthem at Biden’s inauguration. 2022: Watching Chromatica Ball videos from home and wishing I could attend, but being thrilled to see her look so happy and healthy onstage. And I got so embarrassed HAHA that reminded me of my high school health class, we had a completely random fun day off in class where we did a bunch of random celebrity trivia (don’t ask me why we were doing this in health class haha), we were broken into teams, and part of it was guessing celebrities from their baby pictures or pictures of them as a little kid. Everyone was shocked when I guessed Gaga INSTANTLY and my team won, I think we got extra credit on our test because of it See The Best In Everyone
Schwerk 7,039
Ok, reading this all back I feel very blessed 2008: My collegue was a big fan, me not yet. He arranged and interview with her and I was gonna direct and do camera, but my boss canceled it cause she wasn't famous enough and we had to go film some dumb event instead. 2009: I had downloaded what I thought was The Fame and played it before clubbing. My friend was like 'What are these songs?' And I was like 'Lady GaGa' and she was like, I have her album and this is not on it. Turns out it was the singles with a bunch of unreleased tracks. Some of which still are favs of mine. 2010: Saw her live for the first time at the Monsterball. Met people that are close friends till this day. Gaga looked right at me during Telephone and said 'Sing Beyonces part' and I f'd up the words She couldn't hear but she did see haha. 2011: Met her for the first time after the MB in the US. She was so excited about the gifts I brought her. 2012: Was on stage with her at the BTW Ball. But my fav memory was when she saw me in the crowd the next day and said hi and I threw my hairpiece on stage later on and she laughed picked it up, tried to put it on and joked about it. 2013: ARTPOP listening party in Berlin. Such a cool experience and beautiful to see her so vulnerable and powerful in an intimate setting. 2014: Gotta go with two moments. Gave her two t-shirts I made of her mom and dad for her bday and she wore the Joe shirt and posted it on Twitter. Fav moment was her being all proud showing it off to fans and paparazzi and the idea she built an outfit around that shirt in a week filled with 'looks'. Other moment was on the release day of C2C in Amsterdam, she wrote Marry the Night on my arm and kissed it and I got both tattooed. 2015: Cheek to cheek tour in Copenhagen was the best. Was was great fans, front row, wet AF cause it rained all day but during the show it was dry. Tony was joking with us, it was amazing. 2016: TIHTY Oscar's crying watching her perform on the couch with my roommate in the middle of the night. 2017: Being proud AF watching her in the middle of the night doing the Superbowl. 2018: Joanne tour with the best people, front row. She recognized us and sang to my friend. 2019: The first Jazz & Piano was amazing and when that crowd of GP gave her a standing ovation I was so proud. + Oscar win. I was beaming with pride and happiness. 2020: Smile performance. I love that song and always cried when Tony sang it during the C2C tour Her version is so sweet, I love it. 2021: The 911 music video blew me away. Also seeing HOG right before another lockdown in a full theater with people that actually laughed at Patrizia's sassy remarks was a treat. 2022: Chromatica Ball Arnhem. First time ever being front row, dead center. She was staring me down so much and it was amazing and so empowering to see her so happy and strong. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
