Shakira fired an employee for not heating up a piece of chicken

So they were her cook and when they were asked to cook they did not cook. Seems like a legit reason to fire someone for not doing their job?

She is on the slippery cancel slope now. The fact that she employs people and then tell them what to do is no longer acceptable.

I agree to some degree. However, we dont know if the cook was given aproppriate breaks and lunches and if he was getting paid per hour or for the whole day

If he was working way over his shift then i understand him not heating up chicken. If he was well within his paid hours and with proper breaks etc., and didnt do it out of spite then yes, he can get fired for it as he is working as a personal cook for her.

They both did wrong here. The chef could’ve communicated to Shakira in a much better way that he would not be able to prepare the chicken for her. That being said, Shakira should’ve maybe stopped to think that her staff has mental and physical limits as well. If an employee is bold enough to refuse in that matter after already working chances are they’re tired

Chef: I've finished for the day. I'm going home

Shakira: Not on my watch
