It's baffling. It's like he wants his party to lose the midterms. Zero chance of this passing so I don't see any purpose to it but vice signaling.

Yep, it's just him signaling to the base. He's safe in the Senate, he doesn't care if his party has a majority or not. Less for him to do, more for him to yell about when they aren't in power.

Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act.

PPCUCLTAA?

Can't even come up with something catchy tbh. Should have called it "Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn from Late Term".

Does it make sense? No.

Does it spell  "PPCULT" because it's a bunch of deranged men with fantasies of controlling women? Yup.

Too many gays, not enough population drive. They prefer handmaidens tales.

The previous versions have been nicknamed Mikah's Law after a boy who 'survived' a week 22 abortion. Its actually passed the House three times (13, 15, 17) and had support in the Senate twice

Lyndsey doesn't care about how the rest of the nation reacts, he's just doing this to hold on to power in SC.

Well I hope he takes the whole party down in his attempt at personal gain :vegas:

From a non american point of view it seems they are empowering recently, even more since Trump is gone... I know this is half of America, but damn, with all those news I don't feel like going back there (an I have already been there 6 times)

Let them die on this hill. The overturning of Roe has single handedly given democrats a two digit upswing for the midterms. Democrats all democrats need to do is put this on blast. Decriminalize marijuana and they’re done

It seems this way because 3 months before Trump left office he replaced a liberal justice in the Supreme Court, which created a super-majority of conservatives on the court. Decisions from that court this past summer are how we got to this point now.

In reality, it's something like 20% of the population. We just follow an outdated system that gives them more say than they deserve.

LATE TERM ABORTIONS AREN’T A THING! :saladga:

I’m so sick of this narrative that is trying to be pushed. People who are pregnant do not just wake up at 20 weeks and think they no longer want the pregnancy. It’s usually people in horribly traumatic situations that their baby or themselves may die or the baby is suffering in the womb. I swear I’m so sick of this crap and I hope this back fires on the republicans. I know a lot of people that are technically republican but believe in a right to choose.

I’m actually shocked that they’re doing this after the immense backlash they’re getting even in red states over Roe v. Wade’s death.

and they’re trying to overturn the student loans thing too

Elected Republicans are not about representing the people, they’re only about representing themselves
