2011.

I was a 15 years old gaybie on my way to self-acceptance already fooling around with the boys behind the closed doors. Gaga & Born this Way & Monster Ball HBO special & purple unicorn sealed the deal for me 😅

2019 for me

I remember loving Joanne, seeing A Star Is Born and her doc, then loving the rest of her discography :vegas:

Found this thread during the release of Stupid Love and anticipation of Chromatica

Cavadour

In 2015, when I heard about Gaga being cast in the new season of AHS, as fan of the series since day one, I was so disappointed. Because at that time I was considering Gaga nothing else than a mere fashion and commercial phenomenon. Anyway I was there for Hotel first episode.

Oh my ! My eyes suddenly opened in awe. I was stunned and speechless. How could I've missed this ? How could I've been so wrong ? During the following days, weeks and months I searched everything Gaga on internet, videos, pictures, interviews... I bought all her previous albums and when Joanne came out, I was totally hooked and played the CD in a constant loop on my car stereo for more than a year.

AHS S05E01 -> Me -> Instant LM forever !

Late to the party but I got a diamond heart

Night Vision

Sometime around the late summer of 2008. I remember being on vacation and the Just Dance video was playing on TMF, and then later discovering Beautiful Dirty Rich and Poker Face and being completely obsessed and thinking she was so cool and unique. This was before she had actually released any music in my country and I would talk about her to my friends and they had no idea who she was and thought her name was weird :ladyhaha:

I had to wait a few months until The Fame was released here, and back then it wasn't so easy to find music online that hadn't been released in your country yet, or at least little me didn't know how to. So I remember converting her songs from YouTube onto MP3 and then burning them onto a disc so I could listen to Just Dance, Poker Face, BDR, and Dirty Ice Cream on repeat :selena:

Late 2009! I liked Poker Face, LoveGame, Paparazzi  and Just Dance but they didn't yet spark my interest enough to fully educate myself on her, but seeing her live right in the time where she was transitioning or evolving from The Fame to TFM on a German TV Show called "Wetten Dass...?" where she  actually played a snippet of Bad Romance for the FIRST TIME, being a little extra and asking for "a little extra space" was the ultimate super-fan-trigger and lead to me getting TFM as a Christmas present in the same year when I was ten years old :fatcat:

shortly after I was getting obsessed with the Monster Ball too (both versions) and watched videos of it almost every day until it was available as a DVD :deadbanana: Then her performance at the AMAS and the Brit Awards, everyday a different look and so on, she was everywhere and we were being so well fed and privileged back in the day :selena:  !CRAZY TIMES!

2011. I discovered her music just before the release of Born This Way:cyanlights: I was like 9 years old. She changed my life completely.

I am! I have all my photos buried on a hard drive and the CDs put away in a sealed storage container :laughga: I’ll try to remember to pull them out tomorrow and take some pics! Maybe I’ll even make a thread about it :sis:

I would love to see a thread! It’s amazing you got to experience this
