Could be.. first they said that with 60% of the population vaccinated, we could go back to normal, then 70%, then 80%, at the end Portugal was the most vaccinated country in the world and many countries were taking off restrictions and we weren't.

I also think it's very contradictory what these manufactures are saying, at the beginning they said that it would be very easy to adapt the vaccines to new strains, then why was there no vaccine for Delta when it was more deadly than the first variant? Why are the only vaccines available the ones for the original strain? 

All of this made me not believe in the vaccines very much, at least for young ages. For of risk, sure, but now I'm debating what I actually gain from them seeing when I caught COVID, I got major symptoms. If it's to be protected for 3 months at a time, it's not worth it for me  I know symptoms vary from person to person, but I can't remember the last time I had a fever and with COVID I did get one, so I wonder what it actually does to the immune system..

I'm not an antivaxer, I'm just tired of all this propaganda that's being thrown at us  like for example Biden saying that he wasn't worried when he caught it because he is double vaccinated with two boosters AND he was taking the antiviral.. if the vaccines are so good, why is the antiviral necessary?

Ok, so let me tackle this:

1. Those numbers are for the original and early strains. 

2. Respiratory viruses tend to mutate and evolve very quickly, or different strains are out every year (Example: The flu and the annual vaccines we have)

3. No vaccine in this world is forever. Immediate immunity is temporary, especially for a fast changing virus. This was ALWAYS going to be something like the flu vaccine. 

4. Numbers dropped DRASTICALLY in Spring-Summer 2021. The vaccines we have were doing AMAZING since everyone got vaccinated and it really seemed COVID was over, but then Delta spread everywhere and it was the first variant to cause breakthrough cases. Delta is now EXTINCT. 

5. Omicron and its sub-variants have been dominant for all of 2022 so it’s perfect to boost people with vaccines that target it. We know that in 2021 and 2022 January cases skyrocketed. We can assume the same will happen this winter. 

6. Even if the vaccines we currently have don’t 100% prevent infection and/or transmission it does protect against severe disease and Long-Covid.

This is your body. Long-Covid can be disabling. 

I feel it’s important we have the right information. 

I would also like to add that people who have knowledge of science and public health are not surprised about waning immunity etc. This was always going to be the case and I’m sorry you were to believe otherwise.

But do you, I guess. I'm 4x vaxxed and will be getting both the rona and flu vaccines when necessary from now on

People do whatever they want tbh, we're all adults. I hope we wont go back to these arguments again in the future (not talking about you but the world)

I don't mind adults doing what they believe is right or is a risk worth taking. For me the thing is rather that people who don't see the value in vaccines are usually the same people who don't stay at home when they're sick (not just with covid but with any seasonal flu etc.). And then it becomes my problem when those people sit next to me in public transport.

I thought the same after my booster made me sick but I would implore you to change your mind.  For your own and others safety… if too many people decide to not get it we may end up like China where the vaccination rate is so low we have to do lockdowns again

Did 4 time Pfizer and the covid was so mild, the colds that I had in the past were worst, I really glad I did the vaccines.

I’m ex smoker and I still feel the sh-t in My lungs, who knows what could have happen to me without the vaccines.

I will do the omicron vax as soon as I’ll be allow to.

And **** the positive people who go in public without masks and coughing on everyone

The arguments aren't the problem. The people who refuse basic medicine and prevention so they don't further contribute to public illness are the problem.

I still say they should make vaccination compulsory, like many other vaccines are.

Good. I'll be getting it as soon as I'm eligible. Had Omicron at the beginning of the summer and all I had was a loss of taste/smell and a sore throat; I'm assuming the fact I'm triple jabbed helped me out.
