I hit pre-order on that rose crystal vinyl in a heartbeat. 

I too feel like this could be her best yet.... her EXPLICIT ERA??? 

I get to see her at ACL a week or so before the album comes out, and then seeing her again in November after the album's been out for like a week or two. omg omg this is so exciting

A Carly album about loneliness with an autumn release with a cover where she looks serious and a parental advisory sticker? Colour me intrigued. It seems from her more recent material that she officially wants to move out of her teen pop sound and more like the adult she is. I think she's perhaps been sidelined a bit because people think of her as for kids due to Call Me Maybe and the subsequent attempts to have similar success. I was a bit let down by Western Wind however, I hope the rest will be better.

Yeah, Western Wind wasn‘t my fav as well, but its Track 8/16, so might be just a little break in the overall flow of the album. 
I also think she has a pretty solid place in music for a while now, a lot people love her music when you start asking around and the label seems to have trust as well ♥️

I really enjoyed Western Wind and the new sense of maturity and direction, but for some reason I’m still slightly apprehensive about this album.

I mean, I’ve enjoyed everything of hers since Kiss, but there’s something about the cover and the spoken word teaser that’s giving me Solar Power vibes - which I found so bland  But I’m ready to hear what Carly has in store for us!

Just had a listen to ‘Beach House’ on Carly’s YT which is out at midnight local time:

Overall quite underwhelmed after WW - is more upbeat which is appreciated but doesn’t fit sonically or thematically with it at all so I’m intrigued to see what the album is going to sound like. In fact, BH sounds like it’s from Dedicated Side B. The cover art doesn’t match WW or the album either which is also strange. Also sounds more like a collaboration as there’s a lot of prominent male vocals throughout.

Least it’s only 2:30 in length so it’s not too enduring to listen through.

Kinda fits with my idea of WW being a „reset“/chapter point in the album over all since its oddly in the middle and sonically very chill. Maybe we get a more uplifting first part with embracing the fact that you can be alone sometimes and a more calm, „sad“, melancholic second part discussing loneliness speed and productionwise à la Emotion B Side (Cry, Roses)

I quite like the idea of this, and I think Surrender My Heart opening the album fits into that nicely. But it still doesn’t help the fact for me that Beach House sounds quite bland production-wise compared to WW and SMH sadly!

Where does surrender my heart come from? It doesnt show up in the preordered on AM..

The demo leaked a while back and has since been listed as Track 1 on a few sites like Genius and Carly Wiki! There is an explicit word in the lyrics which matches with the explicit warning on Amazon etc.
