Economy 52,854
https://globalnews.ca/news/9017958/pope-francis-canada-first-nations-headdress/ Some 1st Nations in Canada are not very impressed that Pope Francis was given a traditional head feather dress as a gift by Chief Wilton (a tribe leader) after he came to Canada to formally apologize for the Churches role in residential schools in which many students died while attending While most appreciate the formal apology, that gift is seen as something of a high honour and to give it to someone who came for an apology is very out of place Other 1st Nations however had a different view and saw positive symbolism while others defended it saying Chief Wilton could have had personal reasons to express such a gift of honour after spending time with the pope one on one and that it isn't other place to judge whether or not he offers such a gift The visit was wildly expected to be one of mixed emotions and controversy
Guest
Didn't the church also protected Nazis back in the day? So much for being a "believer"
