It's like Sia once said Beyonce likes to frankenstein/combine different part of songs together and while this was bearable and well done on ST it sounds disjointed on Rennaissance. I think it's good, but it's nowhere near the groundbreaking spectacle everyone is going to be claiming it is for the next month before moving on to something else Someone else said that they don't feel like Beyonce successfully transitioned into the genre she's presenting on this album and I kinda agree. Like the music and production is great throughout most of the album but her voice doesn't match the vibe in a weird way. It often feels like a remix or mashup instead of a unified track, like her vocals were for a completely different song. Not always, but I noticed it many times throughout my listen. Oh and Break My Soul is absolutely the worst song on the album, I dunno what she was smoking when she picked that as the lead Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I’m not gonna go too deep into reviews until it’s released but this is REALLY fun. It’s not her best album; I think I prefer the sheer audacity of self-titled and Lemonade. but it’s definitely gonna take you to the club and manages to be accessible while still being somewhat experimental. I definitely see it growing on me a lot, but I won't be relistening before the official release. I think somewhere in the middle the album slows down and loses its traction which is unfortunate, but other than that I LOVE the sounds she's going for and the samples she uses work VERY well. Alien Superstar is my favorite for sure. What a bop. And I don't get the Break My Soul slander?? I thought it was among the best on the album.
