They would not wade this far into an investigation if they didn't think there was a good reason/a potential crime. Still gonna keep my expectations low I've been burnt by reading 'this is it', 'smoking gun' and 'the other shoe has dropped' so many times... Do you feel him sir? Completely fair. I've been cautiously optimistic about this investigation (and the one in GA) for a little while, but imo the fact that we now know that the DOJ is officially investigating Trump's activities both related to seditious conspiracy and related to obstructing an official proceeding/defrauding the US govt is a pretty big deal. 🤞🏻 We have forgotten our public MANNERS
YourEvilTwin 1,384
Manage your expectation, guys. I highly doubt Trump is ever going to see the inside of a jail cell. Why? Because the moment a Democratic administration sends a Republican president to prison, it's going to be open season on ALL future Democratic presidents. Countries with FPTP/two-party systems routinely let their presidents/PMs get away with murder for this very reason. The one exception to this rule is South Korea. You will have one hell of a fun time reading on the fates of literally every single former president of that cursed country. Does the Biden administration strike you as one that has the guts to disturb that balance?

I’ve realised that the right wing take an incredibly simplistic approach to things like the economy, crime, etc. One example may be the idea of cutting social security as a means of pushing people into employment, which can do more harm than good, as taking away money may actually produce more barriers to employment and education. As well, I believe in everyone working for a living if they can, but as a result of right wing policy, wages just don’t pay for things anymore, and it’s becoming difficult to hold down a job. It’s why we need to change the structure of our workplaces and markets towards more cooperative, community, smaller, decentralised models, which are shown to pay better, have better motivation, and ultimately have a better standard of work. At the end of the day, libertarian capitalists are big business’ best friends, what with their tax breaks and control over the markets. You’re a fool to think any Republican or right winger is against big business.
