Nature offers a visual spectacle at Techirghiol, Romania. An unusual phenomenon amazed both locals and tourists. The lake, known for its health-promoting mud, turned pink.

Specialists say that this color is temporary and is due to an algae found in Africa but also in America. Biologists believe the lake could remain pink throughout the summer.

Adrian Bâlbă - biologist : "It is not a toxic algae; it is a primitive algae, it is a halophilic algae, that is, resistant to salinity content; extremophile - extreme situations for the biology of this alga.''
