Doesn't hurt to do a quick search about the meaning of the song.

In my case, the songs I listened to were Hair, from Gaga. I really love the music but nowadays the lyrics are kinda cringy for me, I'm sorry :(

Honestly the line "i want lots of friends that invite me to their parties" was one of the only lyrics that made me cry as a teenager lmao. It's cringe but she knew her target audience:selena:

I think the verses imply Marilyn doesn’t care about who JFK and herself are in the relationship as long as they are together

I guess I mean some of the phrasing. Like ”I can be mom, unless you want to be dad”, rather than “I can be mom, if you wanna be a dad” or something of the sort. Also, “I could be girl, unless you want to be man”. Idk the song is snatched anyway but it’s always made me curious

Gagaism

That’s the guilty pleasure for me in music in general. The melody and arrangements components will always gets my attention first and then I’ll take the lyrics. Of course is good to have a good written lyrics (that’s what I love about Taylor Swift for example) but most of the times bad or uninspired ones doesnt really bother me that much, it depends.

Honestly, a lot of Harry Styles songs for me. I enjoy his music, but I often find the lyrics to be mediocre at best. Fine Line, imo, had far better lyrics than Harry's House (with the exception of Watermelon Sugar).

Reject False Icons

Pretty much every bop of the 2000s sexism, uninspired love songs, basic lyrics

but that’s the magic for non-native speakers you focus even less than native speakers on the lyrics at first, so the instrumentals are the main reason you like songs at first

Something about not having a normal relationship in the eyes of the world?

Lyrics don't have to be deep in order to affect you emotionally. So sometimes it's a smart choice.

Like the way Gaga sings "All I ever wanted was love" gets me every time when I think about war, my family or the love for my bf:messga:

"Being mom" or "being dad" refers to a phrase used by certain classes of people when they take charge of a situation.

For instance, if there's a tray of drinks and a group of people, one would say "ill be mom" and that person takes charge and serves the drinks.

If there's a map to be read and someone volunteers to "be dad" then they're volunteering to take charge.

It's about taking a d1ck.

I read a lot of people here saying Hair has cringy lyrics and I really can't find a reason why

I find it's definetly written through a young person's perspective, so maybe that's what they meant (don't see them being cringy either)
