Daenerys

It’s so hard! I love the album version but I also love the Bree Runway remix :enigma:

Haus Labs for me personally. It is aggressive and hard hitting but still fun. That 303 bass synth is so perfect.

Album version is second because it's got a celebratory house sound and I appreciate it more having it and the Haus Labs version. They bring out the best in each other imo. HATE the saxophone - but if it had stronger strings like the live version to tie the sax in better I'd live.

Early Version / Demo has a rough mix, but I do enjoy the guitar - however the prominence of both lead and backing vocals on the chorus is wonderful. I do wish that both versions had those backing vocals carried in a just a little more significantly on the final mixes. The album version does it a little bit more - but neither hits it quite the way I wish they did.

Bree is last solely because the mix is too similar to the album version for me - just a little oomphier. Brees verse is the biggest draw. I love the remix, but it just doesn't give me a lot to talk about other than Bree herself. Still love it.

Album version the best for obvious reasons (everything about it is flawless, one of the best tracks of her career tbh), but the HL version slaps despite it’s obvious flaws. The demo is cute but like, idk, sounds too messy. There’s a reason it’s the demo and not officially released.

Album version is the best, but I would add some things from both early version and hauslabs, and it would be the perfect song for me!

I've been getting messages from my deep waters

Album version is the best. I’ll never understand why stans always think the demos are better.

For me - album version > early version > Bree/DOC > Haus Labs version

The CD version is perfect and I never understood the hate towards it.

I honestly think that the hate is purely because of what leaked in early 2020. Everyone heard one version, and they all thought it sounded incredible. Then they got something wayyyy different to what leaked.

I think if no-one heard anything of Babylon until it was released with the album (as intended!), no-one would be saying anything negative about the CD version of Babylon. It's such a good song, in its final format. But people just complain because of what they heard first (that they grew an emotional attachment to).

With that being said, I voted for the "early version". It's not mixed or mastered well, since it's just a demo, but it's sooooo supreme, with the melodic chorus backing vocals!!! (The official CD version is so great too though; that saxophone is pure musical delight!)
