What do you mean?

I had two painful pimples on my foot and one on my arm that lasted for a maybe 5 days and that’s it. Some people on Reddit who have tested positive said they had pretty much the same thing. Literally just a few pimples…not to say some people aren’t having worse symptoms but a lot of people are having very mild, asymptomatic cases.

Wait am I reading this correctly "There had been five deaths so far as a result of the outbreak, he added." What is with the scaremongering when only 5 people have died? :partysick:

Yes I just watched a video of an italian guy and he said the symptoms are very "simple", he just had these pimples (he didn't say they were painful tho) even on genitals and in the **** area.

I'm trying to find out if this gives you immunity or you can catch it again and again like the covid.

The cases are rising, OMS has all the rights to inform us so we can stay alert. But of course I'm reading the same plotting **** people said for the covid (and are still convinced of them).

Honestly I'd rather this than the slow response to COVID back in 2020 that lead to really dark times.

I wouldn't say it's scaremongering. This illness was until very recently was never seen outside of places in Africa (or people recently returning from travel to Africa). It suddenly changed and is now spreading in a new and different way, and that's something to keep a close eye on.

Like with covid, SARS and corona viruses were not new in any way, but suddenly one mutated and became something we needed to know about

Even if monkey pox is something similar to say, chickenpox, that's still disruptive and can be deadly sometimes, and something we vaccinate against now, so still very important to keep on top of from a global health perspective

Apparently there is already a vaccine that people are getting

But also apparently it is spreading very fast in gay communities :bear:

I saw a TikTok earlier of a man making light of the disease by joking that the hospital staff immediately knew he was there for the monkeypox vaccine because he was outwardly gay

And then I saw another TikTok of a man who picked it up at a gay club and he told the story of how painful it was and showed the pox on his skin etc

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Omg I’m so happy I already got my first dose of the vaccine. This is scary.
