Although I wish Telephone was taken out for them. As for the lack of ARTPOP and Joanne songs, it bums me out but I understand. Applause is one of those second-tier smashes that can be rotated out (like Paparazzi, LoveGame, Alejandro etc). And Million Reasons’ role as the stripped ballad is being taken by Hold My Hand at the current moment. I think both songs will be performed again sometime. She did Shallow for Enigma, yes, but a LOT of people couldn’t make it to Vegas to see Enigma. This tour is a chance for her to touch on the huge moment that A Star is Born was, and I think 2 songs from that soundtrack pails in comparison to what that moment in her life brought. So, for as many people saying “she should swap those out for other songs from Chromatica”, I disagree. I think they fit in and it sheds light on that era. At first I thought she should have switched Rain On Me with Hold My Hand, but it would require Rain On Me having some sort of theatric BANG (like Britney’s Baby One More Time encore from the Dream Within a Dream Tour with the indoor rain). I think HMH is great as an encore now, and it’s not unheard of to close the show with a ballad, as she closed with Million Reasons on JWT and Shallow for Enigma.
