Ultimecia 6,025
I guess my biggest criticism is the fact that the Chromatica aesthetic got thrown away in favor of a self-referencial one, à la Enigma, which was fine for a Las Vegas residency, but for the Chromatica Ball though? Chromatica's visual language was a reinvention, it was creating brand new references instead of quoting them. I'm sad its visuals never got the justice they deserved, especially after the 2 years of unfortunate circumstances Time. It will not wait, no matter how hard you hold on... Stone S 1,133
Tbh I’m super hyped up about it right now. She just has this energy that I haven’t seen in her for sooooo long and it’s making me feel overjoyed. She also sounded, looked, and danced so damn good. She had that spark back that I loved about her. I also was completely gagged over the outfit during replay like it actually gave me everything I need. Sorry for rambling I loved it (wish she included ARTPOP songs tbh) Welcome to Industria
aaronf4242 10
I was in GC and literally couldn’t see **** because of how low the stage was. All I could see was when she was on the upper level. Couldn’t see over peoples phones. I wish she had put the stage higher up like she did for ArtRave and Joanne. I actually collapsed and missed 6 songs because I got so dehydrated. Couldn’t buy anything with a card and no cash machine. And no water fountains anywhere. Then the train was a total clusterfluff. From what I could see on the screens, the show was great though. Ashley 8,696
I just saw a few short videos cause I don’t want to spoil the whole thing for myself, but it looks so good!! Getting total TMB vibes from this show.
Mirage 52
I feel like this new creative direction of the Chromatica Ball was Enigma’s original concept. It totally fits with that dark photoshoot we got back in 2018. And somehow Enigma feels more like Chromatica now lol

I would never have imagined that she would take this artistic-visual direction. And I love it! It's like she's taken note of some things I've thought and posted on this site before (I should look up my previous posts), especially two: 1. that it would suit her just fine to adopt a brutalist aesthetic; 2. that she can totally dispense with choreographing each and every song, and focus more on iconic movements and theatrical mannerisms. The looks are over the top. I loved them all and I liked that he didn't follow the Enigma-Stupid Love line but went for something more serious, mature. The hair and makeup were FLAWLESS. The visuals looked top notch to me. I was SHAKING during the beginning; the intro visuals looked very Silent Hill to me and a great presentation of the "museum of brutality". I do think the show would benefit from some slight modifications to the setlist, especially the finale. I think Sine From Above could be added and make an emotional and danceable ending at the same time, refocusing the attention on Chromatica which is still the album of the tour. That's my only observation, and maybe the fact that some "props" could have been added. But the most important thing is that I think that with this tour Gaga demonstrated again her IMMENSE power and talent, her ability to reinvent herself and to keep her essence. And above all she proved to some little monstrosities that she is still in charge and that their ideas about how the tour should be are absolutely predictable and basic (start with Alice, go to planet Chromatica, use the concept of the "tribes", pink and green aesthetics lmao). Gaga again did something unexpected for everyone and succeeded. I want to add a few things: I think the show has changed a lot in these two years, and for the better. I'm sure it was originally going to fit better with the aesthetics of the album (VMAs performance style), but you have to think that it's been TWO YEARS since then. I think this radical change speaks volumes about Gaga's artistic integrity, and her commitment to her art and vision. I think that precisely because of the time that has passed since then, she didn't do a tour exclusively focused on Chromatica, but expanded it to other albums/songs and made decisions like opening with Bad Romance (which I think is risky but very interesting and came out phenomenal). For the same reason, I think she opted for a look that is not obviously Chromatica-inspired (everyone expected a pink wig) but something more Gaga, in tune with the tour proposal (which I think should be thought of as something "isolated", not a direct detachment from the album). I think such a tour helps to cement her as a mature performer and revitalizes her a lot. I didn't mention anything about his vocals and dancing because they were really excellent, as always! So I don't have much to comment on that.

It’s going to take a couple of days for me to totally digest it and the biggest issue I still have with it is the stage, which is in my opinion very badly designed for a stadium, even the whole brutalist concept seems poorly executed, along with the lighting design. But, overall it’s the best visuals we’ve had for years!
The Edge Of Glory 721
I love the show, but the setlist definitely needs be changed. Seems like Gaga choose the wrong song to finish this show. I think she will cut Monster & Enigma on the setlist and add Alejandro, Applause & Million Reasons when the time goes by. Also she needs to change Hold My Hand with Shallow, this song doesnt fit on the end of this show. I'm on the edge with you 🎶🎷

KeepItCool 104
I only saw about 10 minutes of the live streaming, however, from that, here are my thoughts: I am surprised at it's darker theme and that there is a lot less pink/color going on. This reminds me of both Monster Ball's in both set design and costumes. Opening with hit songs rather than a track from the most recent album, the one that the tour is named after was not expected. I also really thought we'd get more songs from Chromatica but again she is sticking with her hits. I am in the group that feels that it's time to move away from the earlier songs and keep a few - rework them, do something new with the sound and choreography. That being said, this probably isn't the time to do it. Lady Gaga has been tied to Vegas for a while, then we had COVID happen and now, we are finally getting a tour - a stadium tour at that with a lot of people going to see her that may not know what a Chromatica is and just see Lady Gaga is coming to an area close by - closer than Vegas. Gaga is giving the general public the Lady Gaga they want to see. Perhaps after this tour she may change it up if she plays smaller venues or she may play it safe and stick to the hits in their original form which many artist do. Variety is nice but if she wants to please the majority she's doing it right. I'm glad Enigma is in! That is a powerhouse of a track and shouldn't be left out! I will miss Alejandro but i'll take something i've never heard live before of something I have multiple times. I would have dropped Lovegame instead for Enigma but what can you do.... I am certainly excited to see the show and to see Lady Gaga again - i'm glad this isn't Enigma (on wheels) and looks to be a proper new show.

The brutalist architecture and gothic, bloody aesthetic was incredible but I was definitely expecting a space-age neon-gore aesthetic like the album. I wonder how much the show changed since the first planned tour back in 2020 and then, 2021… "They have as much in common as dinosaurs and goldfish: the cracker kind!" - Penelope Garcia
