The only thing that surprised me, considering how talkative she was on previous tours, is this time she's barely interacting with the crowd, other than "put your hands up" and all of this stuff while she's singing.

It echos a bit Chromatica which as no ballads and no "low moments", it's dance songs after dance songs. I guess she wantedto do the same for the tour

- the end. let's accept hmh it's not as good as shallow, it's not that cool to use it as the last song.

I really think that if she performed it on the B-stage piano, with a little bit more audience interaction (and maybe a better outfit), it would be the perfect stage-anthem classic-rock end to the show!

Well, as I said in another thread, this is Gaga at its finest. The production, the visuals, the atrezzo, the choreo, the vocals... She really is killing it with this tour. Maybe the setlist is too "safe", but well, I never get tired of her hits.

This. She isn't talking to the crowd at all. It's just song after song after song. It's making the show feel rushed.

She usually becomes more talkative as the tour progresses. It was the very first show. There are plenty of things that could go wrong, she has always been more “focused” on the show during the beginning of her tours. To be fair, she talked a lot during the piano segment!! She was clearly overwhelmed by getting back on stage!!

Things I loved

- the dark aesthetics and effects such as the pyros and lighting

- looks. She served with everyone of them

- vocals and dancing. Loved it

Things  I didn’t like

- the stage. While it’s impressively big, it just feels like a big lump of stone with screens. I felt like it could have had some much more like tendrils and Chromatica style emblems

- the set list does feel disjointed in parts as people have said. Some of the ordering was just strange

things I missed

- I know I’m probably alone here and no one has probably missed these, but to see Plastic Doll and SFA or even 1000 doves would have been nice instead of ARUTW or Lovegame

- theatrics. Gaga is know for theatrical performances but many felt overly staged and more like what other pop girls are doing.  I miss moments of pure Gagaism like killing monsters on stage, being beaten or abducted and jumping out of the stage. I need less safe and more creative story telling

-classics - while I realise there’s a time limit, cutting legendary songs like paparazzi, Alejandro, Judas and MTN seems off.

It felt messy and rushed... idk. I didn't dislike it though.

I still don't get the stage design. I love the concept of a brutalist stage but the way they executed it didn't make sense to me and it didn't serve any purpose in action, which is what I was waiting for. No props, no surprised, just a... stage with another smaller b stage. She barely even used the 2 catwalks.

The setlist is also still not clicking for me. At first it felt like there's some kind of narrative but then it went nowhere at all. The ballads lasted too long too, and I'm sorry but TEOG was a snoozefest. But I'm SOOO glad Enigma was included, it was really good. Some of the songs felt rushed af too, like SL and ROM started and ended and it was like oh wait she's done with them? Especially ROM, it came and went out of nowhere :air:And HMH needs to GO. It's not a good closer and it felt awkward af.

But that being said, I think the outfits and the makeup/hair were STUNNING. She looked absolutely great the entire time (minus the HMH part). And the interlude visuals were out of this world tbh. They were long but it was worth watching them because they really snapped while making them.

I think my favorite parts were the beginning (the intro + BR), Babylon, and Enigma. Babylon especially was SO good and I loved that she had a vogue choreo to go with it.

Overall I think the execution suffered here idk. The whole thing felt like it could have easily been made bigger and more impactful. It was good but I wasn't blown away.

I still have a little bit of hope that this may chance a few shows in still just the first show after all

I’ve just seen small clips here and there, but it looks STUNNING!!! I can imagine people being upset about no ARTPOP representation but I still think it looks incredible. So beyond jealous of those who get to attend the tour. Absolutely floored by the outfits, visuals, etc. that I’ve seen.

does she sings any joanne songs tho ?

Something about her stage presence has changed in such a way that there appeared a feeling of otherworldly stardom godliness about her, it's like she's broken into that league of Madonna and MJ finest tour grandeur.

...

Overall, it felt like she has told a story through more mature non-verbal means like lights, interludes and music, and I really enjoyed it.

I totally agree, I think the countess-like makeup too just made her seem so ethereal and grand. Much more so than ever before. It reminded me a lot of the Scheiße scene in the Fame commercial where she's like the 'star'

And I also felt the same, finally she told a story without the corny literal pantomime of Enigma. It felt so much more elegant, refined and artistic.

It looks incredible!  Great visuals and vocals, I’m so hyped to go.

Little bit gutted at some of the Chromatica tracks not making the track list, I wanted Fun Tonight so badly but we move I guess.

Me too, because that's the song the whole stadium would scream along to. :bradley:

I hope SFA will be added after HMH, because that outro is AN OUTRO. :bradley:

No she doesn’t. And ARTPOP and Joanne are my favorite Gaga albums lol. I can see how they may not fit in with the theme of the tour though, I haven’t seen much but it seems like she has a very specific theme/aesthetic/feel for the show.

Ah, thought of a really fantastic PRO that I loved:

The final interlude! That monologue was really haunting.

The visuals and outfits were amazing, and I liked that there were tracks from earlier in her catalogue that surprised me (eg, Monster). However, I do agree some of the ordering felt a bit strange, or inverted. I definitely wasn't expecting Replay to be so early on, given that it's a fan favorite and arguably the best track on Chromatica - Made it feel a bit anti-climactic. I think the show should have closed with Babylon. Also, some Chromatica tracks were notably missing (eg, Sine from Above). I think it was a really solid first night. She was oozing confidence, and honestly, I like that she didn't talk very much. The music and performances speak for themselves. In the past, she has tended to talk too much, so I honestly found it a bit refreshing.

I love the outfits, the makeup, the hair, and the visuals.

Boringphone and LoveGame need to be switched out ASAP. They felt out of place and served no purpose. :air:

HMH was a weird ending. I’m glad she performed it live but then the show just ended. It felt incomplete.
