Not a single tour she's been on has had a stage that looks impressive sitting in the venue in the middle of the day with little to no production elements being used in it. You can say "BUT THE CASTLE" but no, the castle looked fake, cartoony, and hideous in the light and was only ever impressive when it was seen with the full production. The only stage she's had that looked kinda good before the show was ArtRave because the catwalks looked cool but then we saw the whole thing for the show and it's the ugliest thing she has ever presented in the history of her career. Making snap judgements off of one photograph is just ridiculous. This. If that's real, it has a huge screen, so maybe she's focusing on spectacular interludes/video, we don't know yet. Dear Mr Mendes, my only complaint is that the stage is boxed and using a boxed style stage in a stadium is simply dumb. I’m not judging the aesthetics of it (even if I don’t like the style), I’m judging the practicality of it in a stadium, and I think it’s horrible. You can say “BUT IN ACTION WILL BE AMAZING” and I’m sure it will be great! But a boxed style stage is a boxed style stage even in action. This particular style and the double SEPARATE catwalks are far more fitting in an arena than in a stadium. (If TCB was a featuring tour like “On The Run” then it would have made sense) I attended shows with a boxed stage and believe me, it will limit the view too much on the side. Considering the prices I think it’s unfortunate. But I’m not being negative or dismissive, if you like it it’s ok! I think the black screen thing will be pulled up at some point. That would explain the 300 sq/ft screen rumors from The Sun. I actually feel confident this stage/tour is going to look epic. You can do way more visually with screens and take viewers to multiple literal other dimensions. I know you’re all expecting Gaga to cart around an actual physical planet on a worldwide tour lol but why do that when you can logistically and visually achieve the same result with screens. Take The Weeknd’s stage for example, while it looks cool with the skyscrapers it’s very “ok I saw the Mona Lisa once but I wouldn’t rush back to see it” kinda vibes. And there’s not much you can do to make it look different for each song beyond shining different coloured lights on it. (Similar to the BTW ball stage - no shade). So Gaga’s been there done that.
