First, every concession is sold back in Russia as a victory for Putin.  This spurs him, his government and his supporters on.

Second, civil unrest is a useful tool in war.  If your population turn on you then you’re in for trouble.

Third, this isn’t about being nice, you can’t be nice to a country that is looking to expand its borders and starve the developing world.

Finally, China.  It is watching every move in this war as it plans to take Taiwan.  Weakness shown now is what China will exploit next.

I wasn't agreeing with ending the sanctions tho. All I'm saying is the level of "disgusting" by the comments I think is disproportionate

 

I still feel for the every day citizens there tho

 

Also for who said about civil unrest being a tool... I seriously doubt a small cut off region is any threat to Putin at all. If anything it emboldens his arguments of "Western Agression" in mainland Russia. So I don't agree that is a factor in this case at all
