P!nk - “Irrelevant”

I used to really, really love P!nk.:diane:

But the last few years have been a CHOICE. As some of you said, enough of this midtempo, soccer mom, snap and clap songs. I cant with that anymore. Also, I personally hate that she tries to make her voice sound so clean lately. I know, her voice changed because she probably quit smoking and stuff, but I've seen her live recently and her rasp is still there, dont know why she did let go of that or represses it that much. Also it seems like lately she's just doing what might sell music wise and I dont like that. :messga:

So, lets see, or actually listen, and hope for the best.:lolly:

Edit. I also know she stands up for what she believes in and seems like a great human being to be around. But I hope yall get what I mean.

I still think she could make one more really great record if she leaned into a bit more of a raw rock and roll sound. There is no other vocalist in pop music who can sing rock like her. And she's been doing polished midtempo handclap numbers way too long now.

I love the old P!nk and the new P!nk equally. There’s a lyric in her Beautiful Trauma album that I think speaks to where she is now in her life and career: “I haven’t changed, just replaced all the chains with pearls.” She’s matured now that she’s a mom and her music reflects that, which I love, it’s authentic to where she is in her life. Some of her more recent music is among her most raw and emotional.

You’re totally entitled to your opinion though, that’s just my take

Quoting stats from her last tour, the Beautiful Trauma Tour: “It became the second highest-grossing tour of all time by a female solo artist and the tenth highest-grossing tour of all time, earning $397.3 million and selling over 3 million tickets.”

😊

My all time favorite live performer :firega:

Her last album was bad and felt very inauthentic

I loved Beautiful Trauma though. The last one was hard to get attached to.

For those who don’t know the story, when Roe v. Wade was overturned she told those who oppose women’s rights, gay rights, and support racism to stop listening to her music. People told her to “shut up and sing” so she decided to “shut up and sing” by writing this song as a response.

This is why I adore her.

This song builds to be the most pop-rock sounding song she’s released since The Truth About Love, loving it!

Much like Gaga, I can appreciate ALL of P!nks work/records for exactly what they are.

I don't mind that she explores different sounds. It's boring staying the same all the time.

I'm loving this song, she definitely has a gift for commenting on social justice in her own P!nk way.

The melody that you choose can rescue you ♥
