Gaga must be working on new music...

I was just thinking about how the majority of Gaga's album eras have overlapped with each other. Joanne, ASIB and Chromatica are good examples. Towards the end of Joanne (2016), Gaga started working on ASIB, she then toured JWT and started to work on Chromatica in 2017 before 'finishing' it (aside from production touches) in 2019. 

I find it really crazy to think that during the ASIB era, Stupid Love, Rain on Me, Free Woman, Enigma and Alice (the first Chromatica songs) were already being worked on.

And it makes me fully believe that LG7 must surely already be in production. 

I mean, if we look at Gaga's career so far...

2008: The Fame (recorded in 2006/7/8?)

2009: The Fame Monster (recorded in 2009)

2011: Born This Way (recorded in 2009/10/11?) 

2013: ARTPOP (recorded in 2012/13)

2014: C2C (recorded in 2013) 

2016: Joanne (recorded in 2016) 

2018: ASIB (recorded in 2017)

2020: Chromatica (recorded in 2017/18/19) 

2021: L4S (recorded in 2018/19?) 

If this pattern continues, LG7 will most likely be released this year or early next and will have been in the works since 2020. 

If that's not the case, Gaga hasn't been recording or producing an album since 2019/early 2020, which isn't consistent with her career so far.

It's just odd that we haven't heard or seen anything related to her recording new music. Maybe we will soon?

With this pattern then yes it seems she could be working on a new album, but I feel like it'll be awhile before we get a new album. She's always working on something, but I have a feeling the Chromatica Ball is low-key her " last hurrah" in pop music for awhile and she's going to take somewhat of a break after September. She's discussed many times in the past few years having kids soon and stuff so I really think that's realistically her next plan. And no one come at me for speculating about "a sensitive subject" because she's talked about it a lot recently lol  Yes they'll be lots of things she doing behind the scenes, but I don't see us getting a commercial album anytime soon, if anything she'll be focusing on Joker, if the rumors are true and the other business ventures she does.

To be honest, you could be right there on second thought. Perhaps this is why TCB wasn't cancelled - because she knew it would be her last tour for a long time. I personally expected her to cancel TCB and then come out with a new album and do the tour for it next year, with a few Chromatica songs thrown in. But if there is no 'new album' to come, that would mean no planned tour at all, hence her decided to commit to it two years later, which is pretty unusual.

Perhaps Chromatica was always meant to be her final pop album for 5+ years, hence why it was originally planned to have huge promo. Do we know if her contract reflects this anyone?

This is what I thought in 2020 when everything began to happen so fast. Like since when is an entire world tour announced before the album is even released, and with it starting within 6 months. As soon as that happened my first thought was " oh my god she's realllllly trying to get this done quick before something else." 

Edit: Also the fact that the original Chromatica era was supposed to be so elaborate but also so short....it seemed strangely very rushed

Announcing tours before an album is dropped or announced is definitely the norm now.

I understand the reasons, but, given the comfort given by the status she has conquered, and the justification that there is music constantly being given to us (from Dawn, to jazz to the Top Gun soundtrack), it saddens me that we begin to predict that she won't bring us an album in the near future. Having kids and not working is the equivalent of a certain kind of stereotype that I don't think Gaga would represent. In fact, being multifaceted, wanting the top prizes and fully investing in creating a character, whether in music, film or business, will raise expectations and respect and, therefore, making the choice of projects more spaced in time. Perhaps this in relation to the time between projects is beneficial for her art, in the sense that Gaga can improve any project she proposes, knowing that we will always be thirsty

I think we can expect Gaga to focus more on movies and starting a family and less on music in the coming years. I don’t think she’ll give up music completely but I think she’ll start taking longer breaks in between music projects to focus on other things.

I was thinking about this the other day. Totally! She’s definitely cooking up something based on the pattern of previous work. But I think it’s gonna be a minute before it sees the light of day. Probably fall of 2023 just to give herself time to develop it well and not be overwhelmed with other projects too.

it's very common for artists the announce tours before the album is even out. idk why tho

Were those Chromatica songs in the works during the ASIB era? I think the album was mostly written in 2019, with the exception of Enigma that was in 2017/2018 and maybe a couple of others that were done in 2018.

I have a feeling that Gaga hasn't started on the next album yet because she's focusing on other projects, tour, Joker, Haus Labs

Gaga tends to release a main album every 4 years. 2012-2016-2020. Based on trend, her next album should be 2024.

But then again, she hasn't really recorded since end 2019 (LFS was recorded just before the ASIB release). It's been almost three years and I find it hard to believe that she hasn't written any new songs since.

Reminds me of how some publications expected Gaga to release 3 albums in 2018 because she was rumored to be working on ASIB, LG6 and a second Jazz album all at once. It took her until 2021 to put the last of the three out.

I actually feel a musical hiatus is more likely than a new album in the next two years.
