Yes I believe mods should intervene and stop your personal attacks against me.

I'm only responding to people who are approaching me. How is that derailing? If you don't like my takes on who should be the next leader of the UK, you are fre to make use of the ignore button. But stop with the personal attacks. And I am not a right-winger, a glimpse at my post history will show that. I am someone who opposes extremism whether it is on the left or on the right.

Your initial posts caused this derail, you have been called out over and over for not staying on topic and continuing you talk about your obsession with Jeremy Corbyn.

You clearly know nothing about U.K. politics or the foundations they are built on. You are an American, and your ‘ideals’ don’t translate here, you have FAR bigger issues to worry about.

as a side note, I know this will scare you and you won’t be able to comprehend it, but socialist policies in a functioning capitalist society work. Unchecked capitalism (American politics) doesn’t work.

Any Mods around? Thread has been derailed for 5 pages by the same person.

Why is nothing done to keep convos on topic on here.

Well, for one, you and others keep engaging with the off topic posts so...

Two, I personally don't view the stances of Boris and his potential replacement or former opponent or whatever the other guy you guys are talking about as being very off topic :spin:

The political climate and policies of the UK are relevant to this discussion imo

who here is defending the anti-semitism and pro-putin mess? everybody with more than 2 braincells could tell corbyn had the people of england in his heart when running for PM.

it's always so weird how people bring up the anti-semitism but ignore boris' rampant elitism, sexism, homophobia, racism and islamophobia. we should focus on THAT since this thread is about boris.

He was suspended for anti-semitism from the party? Are you disagreeing with the decision and the Human Rights committee report finding that anti-semitism was rampant under his leadership and he did nothing to address it? He even refused to apologize to the victims? And let me say here, I condemn Boris Johnson any wrongdoing as long as there is an investigation into it. I have no issues with it.

But for you to continue praising someone who was found to have encouraged, directly or indirectly, anti-semitism and pro-putin views in the party, is rather astonishing. This is like when Trump supporters claim they're not defending racism when they support Trump, and completely ignore how racism became more rampant because of Trump's leadership.

But Boris understands putin so he should stay because that makes him what? an icon, a legend, and the moment, now come on now

The topic is about Boris Johnson resigning after over 2 years of corruption.

A poster is talking exclusively about Jeremy Corbyn, a former labour leader who was never PM and isn’t even in the party.

It literally has nothing to do with this thread. Find even once that the poster has mentioned anything in the list in my OP or even mentioned the news of Boris resigning.

Sorry, but it’s clearly off topic.

as a side note, yes, if mods leave these posts up people will respond and it will derail the thread. This is why political threads always get closed as they are not kept on topic and in check.

Might as well just close this one now tbh, pointless.

Thank you.

For the sake of it, I wil not engage this thread anyway and ignore it even if people quote me. At this point, it's like beating a dead horse. And it's not going to be constructive to anyone if my points are not getting through to anyone.

I mean...I disagree

But there's other mods you can appeal to that might agree with you. I left the reports open at any rate :lolly:

As long as the conversation stays at least semi-respectful (and no, I haven't had time to read every post here) I'm personally good with it.

i praise corbyn for wanting to run england as a proper politician with a mind to help people and i'm more than happy to criticise him for any wrong doings but at least he'd bring positive change

whilst mister sloppy BJ is just all around awful and nobody seems to want to match that same energy put onto corbyn against somebody who's actually miles worse? it just seems like a no brainer to me. why even introduce corbyn into this? he has NO power. he paid his dues for his actions whilst boris got YEARS of forgiveness and blind eyes with blood on his hands.

mother, what must i do?

Ok, well I ask that you read the OP, read all the replies and then decide.

once again, the poster has not mentioned anything in the thread title or text and has been called out by literally every other member for derailing and commenting on things no one is talking about.

It’s not even ‘kinda’ related, it’s right wing tactics to move away from the the convo and distract.

What does this have to do with sending troops to Ukraine? I only posted a video of Jeremy Corbyn, saying outrageous things and being an apologist for Putin, saying that hopefully Boris replacement won't be someone like him, and some people got outraged by that comment, going to the extreme of defending this pro-Putin antisemite. There is a big difference between saying "we cant go to war with Russia", and straight up pushing Kremlin propaganda, blaming NATO for the war, saying that Ukraine should be demilitarized and "broken up". And you know it. It's disingenuous to conflate the two. The guy seems to even insinuate that Ukraine is working on nuclear weapons or something "cant we go back to the day when Ukraine was nuclear free". Completely outrageous.

Once again, you can say that you don't support his views and just move on. We can agree on that. But the way that people are actually defending his antisemitism and pro-Putin apologism is what I find shocking. It appears that the new Labour leadership is radically different than that idiot? So why argue and defend him?

You're asking to not turn a blind eye to what's happening in the Ukraine. Whether you're intending it to mean this or not, that's the exact thing that's been pushed by war hawks to get us over there. You can't ask for hyper vigilance and distance at the same time. It's one or the other. A call for us to be involved in any capacity is a call to push boundaries we don't need to be pushing.

As for NATO having some fault...yeah, this is at least in part their fault. There was a time not so long ago where they could've worked to preemptively help protect Ukraine before they were actually invaded and they didn't do it. Now, Putin's there and trying to bait the world into a war and all NATO can do is sit there and watch. They're of no help anymore. They did not use any of their power and influence to extend a helping hand to Ukraine until the Ukrainians were having to beg and die for it. NATO's got Ukrainian blood on their hands, too.

I don't agree with everything Corbyn is saying in his argument, not everything about him in general, but the logic behind it and the wider point he's making is spot on. Demilitarization is a must globally, not just in Ukraine. It is the only thing that will ever give the world even the slightest bit of a chance at peace, and that should ultimately be the goal of every nation. Every nation should strive to reduce the amount of military infrastructure globally, and that's his message. That's his point. He's correct about that and he's correct about NATO (an organization that needs to either be completely restructured or abolished and replaced).

I haven't seen anyone here sympathizing with antisemitism and Putin apologism. Not a person in here has said they support either of those things. They've just correctly said that Corbyn would be a better leader than Boris and any other Tory out there. Which is true. Corbyn would be a better option than almost any conservative.

All that being said, it's never going to happen and you know that. Corbyn's never going to be PM so you bringing him up served what purpose?

If there are particular posts that aren’t respectful, report those. Otherwise political discussions are going to have disagreements.
