Why doesn't anyone realize that America is already way too deep into the whole gun thing? Banning guns wouldn't stop the mass shootings it would only create a huge civil war.

This is what I'm thinking. Based on the tone and what she was saying I believe she meant as a last resort shoot anyone threatening their safety and that's what she meant by "as a last resort, shooting them"

 

Given how whack shooting ur grandchildren is I'd at least consider the possibility she misspoke

The logic so many pro-gun people use is astonishing and so flawed to me. I once spoke with a otherwise fairly intelligent girl about the topic in school. And she thought her guns would protect her from the government in case there was ever a war between the people and the government. Maybe a century ago, but I'd hate to see half the stuff the DoD develops with its budget these days. The same budget they say we need to defend ourselves from foreign threats. 1) Our biggest threat is ourselves at this point and 2) the government doesn't even need to get physically violent with us in order to accomplish what it wants.
