There's a time and place for using the word "bitches." In this case, it comes across as very antagonistic. There's no reason why she couldn't have said "girls." Something must've got under her skin to post this. It's not like anyone's going to forget that she did this stuff, we hear about it every time anyone gets wound up about a new pop girl's raunchy performance by saying "Madonna did all this and more back in the day, it's nothing new." She gets credit and then some. For all Madonna's fame, money, success and legendary status, she still feels like getting one over on the young girls instead of seeing her young self in them. I think it's sad.

It’s funny how a woman who is well aware of her impact “needs some humidity” when talking about her achievements but when a man does it it’s okay. Madonna did make a way for new female artists and 90% of female artists today wouldn’t exist without Madonna. Those are facts and there is absolutely nothing wrong with her stating them. She didn’t tag anyone, she didn’t mention anyone specific, she just said what is generally true and that’s the fact that Madonna made it MUCH easier for girls now. Don’t be bitter guys.

True, she's an icon, but just because you have the right to brag doesn't mean you should do it. Especially not constantly.

Gaga is just as iconic by now and you don't hear her praising herself all the time. I guess she doesn't have to, because she knows what she's accomplished and takes pride and confidence in that knowledge. I hope she never becomes her own biggest fan like it seems to be the case for Madonna for quite some time now. It's never a cute look and imo kind of tarnishing to your legacy. It's not classy, no matter your age, gender etc.

Btw, although her cultural impact is undisputable, there were and are undeniably people who have accomplished way more important things, worked much harder for it and received less money and acknowledgement. A degree of humility would do her good, she comes across as a very self absorbed person.
