StrawberryBlond 15,225 Posted June 26, 2022 Share Posted June 26, 2022 That second bit about how there are totally pro-lifers who have paid for secret abortions for wayward 16-year-old daughters ("she's going away to see a friend out of state for a few days") and their fancy woman on the side ("I'm not paying for a kid I'll never see and I can't risk my wife finding out") is something I've often wondered too. And life-risking labours don't just pick liberal women either. I don't think she needed to call them "bible thumpers" though as that insult detracts from the point she's making but her point still stands. But I will say that I think Pink's heavy-handed approach of "don't listen to my music if you think this way" has caused her to lose sales in the past. You can't force people not to listen to your music and most people don't like to be told how to think by singers. It's a big risk for any artist to make but if she's that steadfast in her beliefs and doesn't mind losing some fans for it, she has a right to be that way. I know this is about so much more than just her, it’s about the things happening in the world, but in the midst of all the scary things happening out there it’s comforting that there are people like her standing up for the truth and defending those of us who feel ignored and left behind, it means a lot.
