Disagree. But it would’ve been a bomb single later. In a perfect world (no covid):

1. Stupid Love (February 28, 2020)

2. Rain On Me (April 3, 2020)

— Sour Candy (with Video) (April 9, 2020)

— Chromatica (April 10, 2020)

3. Replay (July 31, 2020)

4. 911 (October 2, 2020)

for me the perfect isngle choices would have been:

1. Alice

2. Rain on Me

3. Sour Candy

4. Stupid Love

---

end era or release Replay as the 5th single for fans.

Stupid Love was the right choice

Replay is my favorite song on Chromatica but as a single it wouldn't have done well. The ominous undertone is not for everybody, plus I can definitely picture a gp crowd screaming "I want your stupid love love" and "rain on me, rain, rain" rather than "your monsters torture me"

I respectfully disagree. Stupid Love is not my favorite track from Chromatica but it was a good return to the mainstream pop scene.

Anything would have been better than SL tbh. But yes Replay would have been a huge banger of a comeback

I think Free Woman demo (or ft Rina) should've been the best choice

This is so true, I wonder how many people have listened to the album on potato quality speakers/headphones. Once you hear Alice with good headphones, it's all gold from there :bradley:

Until Stupid Love comes in and I'm deafened by that annoying dootdootdootdoot :bear:

The biggest issue with the lead single was that it didn't come out in time to promote it at the 2020 Grammy's. Chromatica deserved to "break in through the front door" like Born This Way.

I disagree. Stupid Love is a great pop song, a light return to form, and probably the best lead for both the GP and fans. It’s fun and accessible. I like Replay but it took me a while to love it, and it def does not sound like a GP hit at all. It’s a fan favourite.

Enigma should’ve been the single. More than any other song on the album it had a chance to shine on the radio - very GP friendly and digestible beat while also being very unique and beautiful in its own way.

I’ll always champion for this song lol.

Massive Monster

I think Sine From Above would have smashed

Not necessarily as the lead but it should have been a single

Kind regards
