Did you miss the moment Gaga invented electro pop with The Fame, The gays with Born This Way, EDM and paved the way for the Hyper pop movement with ARTPOP and House with Chromatica??

I missed the first part as I was created with her third album, but yeah pretty much :river:

This is not directed at you but it would be fun to see what this forum’s reaction to Formation was when it dropped. The responses must’ve been lovely!

we all know what the reaction to her more black-embracing music is...

also idk why people are complaining about bey singing about a 9 to 5, its not the first time shes done it lol

look at the hidden track inside Haunted, Ghost, that song's chorus is literally "working 9 to 5 just to stay alive", amazing song :iamfair:

oh stfu duke dumont, larry heard, todd terry, green velvet are all pioneers of house that i listen to and have seen live

stop acting like beyonce grabbing a basic ass house sample is revolutionary in any type of way.

you should be the one who needs to get your ears cleaned and your head checked for thinking this is groundbreaking in any way.

Where did you see me say this was revolutionary or groundbreaking? Is this the standard against which you judge every song, or just Beyoncé because you find it edgy to hate on big artists?

The House music genre was created by black artists :partysick: and has roots in the LGBTQ community.

So, I expect this album to embrace her roots, as always, just a different part. Can't wait.

It just feels too long and drawn out for my liking. Then again my music taste has been veering more towards pop influenced rock music. Excited for the rest of the album though!

Religion is a product to sell.

I don’t like this one :poot: I think it’s the chorus that turns me off

but there’s a bunch of other beyonce tracks coming soon so I’m still excited :vegas:

The song is a definite grower.. I was mad underwhelmed on first listen but it keeps getting better with each listen.

Still think the beat could have been better though. It doesn't really progress into anything more which is unfortunate. The best thing about all those classing house songs (especially the ones using the KORG M1 synth) were all about the memorable instrumental hooks, So I'm hoping this whole 90's renaissance that's happening in music is gonna tap into that especially. Music was FUN back then tbqfh and if this rlly is the next big thing after the whole disco/80's revival we had I'm so excited for Renaissance and pop music in general :staymad:

After a few listens, my final verdict is that it's a grower and decent, but still a bit too repetitive especially considering the length. Would have been nice for it to stick the landing with a really unexpected bridge and to have a bit more words in the chorus imo. Still overall quite a decent track, just not on par with songs like Formation etc. imo

I’m going to support this. It’s about time I back an artist who cares for the charts.
