UK soldiers must 'be prepared' to fight in WW3, UK official says

I don't think we can have a war where some combo of Russia/China/US/EU are taking each other on. I don't see how logically any of those blocs could go to war with another of the blocs without ultimately being prepared to use nuclear weapons, which is another way of saying that it can't happen. I would be hopeful that Russian military top brass would remove Putin if he took them too close to the brink.

Nah. If y'all want a war with Puta then send a team to take him out directly. Nobody wants to take part in another war like this.

Uhm that will for sure cause a world war as well. That's literally how WW1 started.

Idk, I feel like whatever remains of Russia's government would be relieved to get rid of Puta

But my main point was that the age of sending young adults to war should have been over a long time ago.

You have to keep in mind Putin has 80% approval rate in Russia. He is just the tip of the iceberg and a symptom of Russia's irredentist and imperialistic worldview, not the sole culprit.

No one except Putin that is.  Could come down to “kill or be killed” scenario unfortunately.

Eh, that polling is from people who've been fed propaganda and/or threatened so I don't put a terrible amount of faith in that number.

I choose to believe the reports that the rest of the Russian government thinks his actions are counterintuitive and bad for Russia.

Ultimately, my opinion on the matter is pretty irrelevant aside from the times where I get to vote for anti-Russia politicians here in the States (which I eould do regardless) so I'm going to believe whatever makes me feel better tbh :messga:

I don't doubt for a moment that the number is inflated, but everything points to the fact that most Russians support the war and Putin. Russian society as a whole agrees with his expansionist actions (though yes, we have many, many exceptions). Basically - Putin represents at a small scale what exists on a bigger scale.

He is not the odd one out, he happens to be in power now but if it wasn't him it was someone with the same worldview as him. 100% people are being fed propaganda cultivating these tendencies, but this doesn't mean they are necessarily volatile in their views. There are more Russians that believe in these ideals and back the idea of hurting "the West" than those who are not - especially outside Moscow which tends to be more liberal than average.

Yeah.. I really don't want to be this messanger of dissapointing news, but I think it's very important to remain objective and just call everything by its name. :bradley: For instance, I recently started reading more pro-Russian accounts, in lots of ways I think is a good mental exercise to see things in their own lenses

Obviously Boris Johnson wants to be known as the next Churchill. He’s eager to enter a war.

Read about Boris. He is a Churchill fetishiser. Boris being in charge would always guide us towards a wad of some type 100%.

He needs to be removed.
