Russian Official Publically Disagrees With Putin's Capital Controls

Former economic advisor to Putin and Economy minister and now head of Central Bank of Russia said publicly that Russia's Capital Controls put fourth by the Government should be scrapped and need to go

 

 

Elvira Nebulina has also more recently criticized and dismissed the idea that Russia could emerge stronger while sanctions are in place. 

 

However in the meantime while they are in place she prefers the currency not be manipulated artificially given side effects that can bring and that growing need for exports but also domestic production while under sanctions need to be considered

She won't directly attack or criticize, or name Putin but everytime she opens her mouth in a conference she basically subtly contradicts something Putin's says. Is that safe?

I know she's a very well respected public official in Russia and enough info has been leaked that a lot of other Russian officials are getting fed up with putin and this pointless war. I wonder if putin were to get overthrown somehow, if she would be the person that would replace him?

At least from an economic perspective she's been considered highly competent in all her career

 

She was Putin's personal economic advisor until 2012, she was also economy minister at one point and now she's the head of the Central Bank and decides stuff like interest rates and money supply

 

I don't know how knowledgeable she is on the non economic side of politics tho but at the very least I never got the impression she'd be a war monger

I've spoken to plenty of russians since the war and most tend to avoid the topic or flat out say they don't like the war. Only a minority say they support the war.

Putin really needs to go.

Russians in Russia tho or elsewhere? Cuz of course Russians not living in Russia won't be exposed to the same amount of propaganda
