I grew up in a religious household and community (although I'm not that religious myself)

 

I don't know a single person that has the kind of hatred these ppl you see on the internet do.

 

These extremists make the news and then ppl associate anyone that's religious with these extremists as if they represent the general population. However at least from my experience these GOP Republicans constantly being hateful don't represent 90% of the religious population not even a milder version of it

I always wonder how people can actually believe someone saying and spreading **** like this when they can literally read themselves what the Bible says on homosexually (and if they don't understand what the words mean, you can easily go to Wikipedia and read through different theories).   obviously the Bible does not welcome homosexuality, but there is absolutely no excuse for a Christian living nowadays to make or applaud such claims, when living in 2022, thousands of years after these word were written and we have brains to think themselves.

I was born, raised, and still live in the deep south of the US and I can tell you with complete assurance that every single person I know who is a church-going Christian (the vast majority of my family and relatives plus co-workers) would say that this is extreme without ever outright disagreeing with it. Christians in America (or at least the South) focus on what they believe the bible says you shouldn't do or be instead of what you should do which is love everyone with judgment. They like to have an us vs them mentality and constantly place themselves in the position of being victimized because they are upholding God's word.
