So I just saw top gun and i could notice all the times HMH was referenced throught the movie

But at the end of the movie I didn't hear the same film version that leaked here some days ago (the one played at cannes)... it has the same strings but the vocals were 100% taken from the studio version, no "softened" re recorded vocals, and its a shame because i think that version was 1000x better

anybody who saw the movie noticed the same?

Some "insider" said that the Cannes one is a work tape. We know, that Shallow has like 18 different version, so it is possible, but for me doesn't make sense on a red carpet not playing the official version.

They probably have a few versions and one of them is a specific softer version of the song that matches a red carpet welcoming.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Which part? The one that leads in the credits is the movie version. It sounds different because we heard it in stereo sorround sound system this time, rather than the crappy phone recording. :giggle:

You are correct. The film version is much closer to the studio version.

I kinda wish that the song continued playing throughout the credits, feels like they cut it too early. I heard it throughout the film though, the bar scene with Maverick and Penny you can hear the studio version in the background.

Apparently the version we heard is a work tape film version.

I do wonder if they will push the song later on with an EP of different verisons, who knows

I heard it like 4 times, and possibly a few other times in the score. Some people stayed for the song at the end.
