It's a stand out movie ballad and I appreciate it for being that. I really want a Bloodpop remix with glitchy production like the first 10 seconds.

Yeah it's a movie ballad. idk what people were expecting, the ones who are saying it's boring. Movie ballads, even great ones, are never going to be bops.

It's okay.. Gaga's vocals are incredible, and the highlight

The song itself (melody, structure, lyrics) feels a little generic to me, but I think that's typical for Hollywood blockbuster theme songs.

Now, the intro? :ladyhaha::ladyhaha: I restarted it four times before proceeding

Y'all come on now, not one person is trashing the song. In fact, the majority of the fanbase seems to like the song, and a lil chunk of you love it. Let's keep it cute.

Her vocal performance, especially at the end, reminds me of this. I just wish the melody was as beautiful

It’s in line with the movie theme so it’s not as POP/modern ballad as we like it to be but the vocals are top notch and the lyrics are pretty.

I hope she performs a strip down version with only a piano and her performance

I don't know... I love it, but the production and mixing doesn't honor this legendary voice. It could have been even better! anyways, it's amazing!

I really love her vocal mixing here, sounds more polished than ASIB tracks. The instrumental sounds strong too. But really the melody is nothing iconic, it's pretty bland.

It sounds very on-brand for the movie it was made for. Solid song, not remarkable, but good 👍

Like, it’s 60% of the way towards being a great song, It just needed some editing.

My main problem with Bloodpop is not his technical prowess, but his taste.

Sometimes he stays a bit too generic and nondescript with his production when he should be going off, and sometimes when it should actually be kept simple he can’t help but add his weird distorted voices and electronic effects that don’t match with the rest of the track.

The former was a problem in Chromatica, the later was a problem throughout Joanne and it’s a problem here.

Well I am scared to express my thoughts…

Here we go. Not trying to be a little complainer but…

It is so busy production wise and gets even more muddy because of the (superb) vocals -her singing needs more room to breathe.

The vocal melody should have been more adventurous. Instead, it is stiff and too determined to impress.

The 80s American hair glam type of reliance on volume-up instrumentals takes away from the surprise element. The song is either going to stay with people, or start feeling too familiar too soon to the point of lack of interest.

It is a bit powerballad by numbers. The structural freshness of Shallow is not there.

It is wooordy. I’d rather like to hear quieter instrumentals or an additional verse/melody than the constant repeat/wordy delivery.

I liked the intro. It gives song a sense of atmosphere which is much needed. I wish it all was more spatial and atmospheric, instead of being on steroids.

and c’mom guys, this production is stiff and dated as hell.

I think she's done better, it didn't really make an impression on me, maybe it will grow on me.

What really made me love Gaga is that a lot of her melodies immediately speak to me, I always think "how come this didn't exist yet?", and I don't feel this with many artists. Here I have no idea what the song sounds like anymore and it's only been a few minutes.

I don't like BloodPop and Ben Rice's work, at least I would say that BloodPop is good when he's doing electronic music even if it's not my taste, but for this kind of music, that's just not it.

Also I'm 100% sure that this thing at the beginning is what the critic was referring to when he said there was "Tuvan throat singing", I told y'all he didn't literally mean Tuvan throat singing like in that video you all found, he just meant that she was doing something weird at some point.
