Manchin voted against it (because it makes no difference and you need 60 votes to pass the bill and it's politically smart for him), so you're going to have to find at least 10 other republican votes. So chances are nothing will be done about this and it's up to the state legislatures, but the majority of the states that does not have it codified as state law are republican controlled. Meanwhile, you have your democrat governors in battleground states (WI/MI) acting as the last bulwark against the republican legislature banning abortion in those states.

The access to abortion was never going to be an issue that would be solved electorally. There needs to be a mass movement (general strike, protests, etc.) to exert pressure. If the solution is to simply vote more Democrats in to expand the court, abolish filibuster, or whatever other tactic that could have been done all the other times Dems had a majority since the initial decision to codify it into law then you havent learned anything. This country and its gov is fundamentally rightwing and (as public opinion shows) out of step with what the public believes and wants. Mass movement politics (that doesn't merely rely on electing a more "progressive" Democrat) is the only way.

If people keep making excuses for Dems like you are doing here, don't expect people to show up to vote for them.

Literal decades have passed since Roe v Wade and Dems didn't do anything about it. 

I know this is a tired talking point, but when it comes to issues like this, the US gov is fundamentally right wing and won't solve these issues the way liberals think it will. It is irredeemable and nearly impossible to reform.

1/3 of this country's voting-eligible population does not routinely vote, an overwhelming number of that population from disenfranchised and poorer communities, who are most affected by these issues. Many of these same non-voters have lost complete faith in government (rightfully so). To pin this on them and not the politicians who didn't act is something else, especially when you're framing this issue as one where democrats (if they were present in enough numbers) would have been able to stop this, when that has been the case several times in the last 50 years and hasn't happened yet.

I would be shocked to high heavens if this even remotely led to democrats winning midterm elections over republicans. It won’t. Not in enough places to matter. All over this country there are laws being put into place that limit education in a way that it will never recover. It was already abysmal before. Christians using their “religious beliefs” to rally those around common hatred is gaining everyday where I live. I was born and raised in the Deep South and in a conservative church. If you think this is bad you haven’t spent much time here and this is coming from a white straight presenting female. It’s at a fever pitch I would have never dreamed of before trump. 
 

If you are currently in a marriage with the same sex I would be extremely terrified because I’m already scared for you. I am PRAYING CHANTING MANIFESTING someone comes along and leads the Democratic Party to victory over these people but it’s going to be a hard fight. There are too many people who don’t care about things that don’t effect them.
