I was trying to figure out if it actually looked like a bomb or just some scrap metal.

Turns out that it does look like a bomb and they took it to the airport. 🙄

I'm paranoid to even say the word 'bomb' at an airport, who thinks it's a good idea to take something that literally looks like a bomb to one

I was gonna give them the benefit of a doubt like maybe it looked like a scrap metal and yet it looks 100% like what it is and their behavior and IQ cannot be excused. 

If it was a kid, it would be understandable but the adult presented it to customs.
