They are both smart and witty in their own ways, and they both impacted culture in a different way, so it’s hard to really pick a favorite :cryga:

I still don't even understand what the sexual pun of London Bridge is. Like anatomically what part of the body is shaped like a bridge? It's so incredibly unsexy. Is it just "go down" and London Bridge has no other significance than the association with the phrase "falling down"? Like, Fergie what are you saying you even want to do?

it's not anatomical, i'm pretty sure the "how come every time you come around/my london london bridge wanna go down" is in reference to her wanting to bang whoever is making her london bridge open to the north sea

Hollaback Girl was and continues to be the blueprint. One of SEVERAL iconic and forever influential tracks by Gwen Stefani :vegas:

London Bridge was an echo of trend designed to propel Fergie up the charts :partysick:

How would London Bridge open to the North Sea? Its on a river in a landlocked city.

Anyway, Hollaback Girl is a culturally significant piece that transcends the music industry and extends into TV, film and comedy.

London bridge was a minor hit for 5 minutes.

London is situated on River Thames, London Bridge spans River Thames, River Thames flows into the North Sea.

All these young people who don't remember London Bridge is a reminder for me to apply for my AARP membership. :bradley:

Hollaback Girl. It’s still a banger and is iconic. The first song to sell 1M downloads on iTunes at the time.

I didn’t like London Bridge when it was out but now I love it. I think Fergalicious is her most iconic song.

The real debate is “Luxurious” or “Glamorous.” Gwen passed on the Polow the Don beat and the Ludacris rap for the Isley Brothers sample. There was a version released with that beat and a few years later the Fergie song was released with the same beat, same rap, and very similar title.

Both songs are bops for decades. Hollaback girl is def more iconic but it became so overplayed I kind of got tired of it. London Bridge is a song I've never grown tired of :lolly:

Technically yes, but London bridge is over 30 miles away from the North sea... but I suppose she didn't want to more accurately sing about the humber bridge  I guess.
