THE WAY WE WIN with this part! • Artist Signatures on pre-packaged physical albums are allowable if the signature is contained on the booklet or album packaging and not part of a loose item distributed along with the album. This new trend is dirty, cos many of them are only a piece of separate paper instead of a booklet, and with printed on autograph too, we don't want it! If artists wanna sell signed albums, best believe they need to actually signed each one of them and give fans the value of money I wonder what about these stickers with signatures? do they consider it as a loose item? I believe so, I think Billboard specified that signatures need to be on booklet now and not separate. And ships together than separately. TikTok and other trends drive genuine organic success of songs, it's nearly impossible to force a popular song on that platform, labels have been trying at it for ages. The charts shouldn't be reflective over which fanbases are rabid enough to repurchase the same song and album multiple times, they should show what the public is consuming, which is never physical media. If a customer buys more than 1 unit of any particular UPC or ISRC, the sale will be adjusted down to 1 unit.❗️Please note, this limitation does NOT reset after a certain period of time.❗️ • Multiple Copies (Physical) - If a fan purchases up to 4 copies of a record, each copy is reported as an official sale. If a fan purchases 5 to 9 copies, this results in 4 charting album sales. Purchases of 10 or more albums constitutes a bulk sale, and none count towards the Billboard charts. ❗️Please note, only 4 physical copies of a UPC may be reported PER CUSTOMER. Multiple orders by the same customer that add up to more than 4 copies purchased will not result in more than 4 copies reporting.❗️ • Digital song covers can continue to have alternative digital covers that have been acceptable in the past, which may include static images, but NOT a digital signature or any other virtual enhancement. • Digital album covers can continue to have alternative digital covers that have been acceptable in the past, which may include static images, including printed static "digital signatures." • Artist Signatures on pre-packaged physical singles are also NOT allowable. • Artist Signatures on pre-packaged physical albums are allowable if the signature is contained on the booklet or album packaging and not part of a loose item distributed along with the album. source Great. But in turn we cannot really attribute the success solely to the music as tik tok trends are associated with many things irrelevant to the art itself, be it the song matches a certain dance move, challenge or meme. Since the inception of charts, we always attributed success to the art itself and the artist, be it radio support or fans buying multiple copies of your work. I just don’t think that your song becoming a trend is a measure of success with any merit. Trends fade but fan commitment creates legacies.

It baffles me that we as a species are getting into such trivial details. It also puts in perspective that a "#1 album" has never just 1 meaning, and stan wars to buy copies etc is just helping capitalism, and for what? for an abstract place on a made-up list? We need to grow up... I mean if you wanna be all philosophical and deep, what really is growing up on a dying floating rock in space? 5 hours ago, Versace said: They’re really trying to kill the chart success of artist that thrive on physical sales/fan commitment and keep supporting the streaming era where your success is determined by tik tok trends Why is it an issue? Charts were meant to show what was popular at the time. Is it really more fair for 20,000 people to buy 3 copies (60,000 in sales) rather than 50,000 buy 1 copy? What was more popular then? People hear it on Tik Tok then like the song and buy or steam it. It's the same concept as radio, but it's not just companies pushing songs through their stations. It's a user-based engagement.
