streamstarcrossed 409
That tweet is so ultra dramatic. A lot of you act like Gaga is entitled to people’s love and adoration, kinda how BTS stans act. If you read the comments most of those people made, none of it is even that bad. I think Bowie’s son was especially entitled to give his opinion on her tribute performance whether it was favorable or not. Personally, I thought it was sorta in bad taste to show up to ceremony shortly after he had died dressed like him and proceeding to do a full performance in his image. Same as it would’ve been weird had she dressed as Tony Bennett to perform at this years grammys. Grace Jones was asked about a possible collaboration with Gaga and said something like ‘we tried, it didn’t work. She was too fake and affected.’ I think that’s a fair assessment especially considering Gaga has now opened up about how the ‘earlier Gaga’ was essentially a mask. Is it bad that Grace was honest about not wanting to work with someone like that? What is there to gain from peddling this narrative that gaga is like the most hated on underdog? It’s not even remotely realistic. She gave a slurred Grammys performance and twitter erupted. She said three words to Liza Minnelli and the internet had an orgasm over it. Hmm, I’m more inclined to believe what someone who’s actually met her says over a fan with only their constructed and idealized version of her via the internet/media. Not that I think she has no soul, but we know nothing about the interaction they had. I don’t think it’s fair to dismiss what Grace (or anyone else) said simply because you don’t like it. It’s simply about your opinion - the opinion of an anonymous user on a pop star forum which has absolutely no relevance to me or the real world. As for the person you just called a ghoulish character - which actually evidences a lack of emotional intelligence from your part by attacking the physical appearance of a person -, that’s the best selling female artist of all time, with the highest grossing tour of all time, and the one and ultimate Queen of Pop who formulated and defined the blueprint of what a pop star should be. These are facts, not arguments, and your opinion is simply irrelevant. So yes, let me post another gif for you, laughing at the irrelevance of your opinion: So insanely pressed. Crescent Bloom 1,083
I am not entirely in love with this tweet. Not only do I think it is a bit fabricated in Gaga's favor, but I also believe it lacks a lot of context in regards to Gaga's relationship with these individuals. The Madonna feud is played out this point, BUT what many Gaga stans seem to conveniently forget is that Madonna was a supporter/mentor to Gaga in the beginning of her career. Madonna took her daughter to several of Gaga's shows, she gave Gaga advice backstage at her shows, she publicly complimented her in a Rolling Stone interview, and the SNL skit was done in all good fun. Things turned sour with the whole BTW/EY situation. I think the initial "reductive" comment was meant in her "teasy-witty" humor because in the same interview she acknowledged that she isn't bothered by the similarities and that she recognizes Gaga as her own artist. I think her covering BTW and going into She's Not Me was when things got messy and tacky.

Ronk 14,762
Madonna and Gaga are on good terms now and that's what matters. I wish people would get beyond what happened in the past, it only stirs up unnecessary drama. I'm sure both Madonna and Gaga would appreciate if fans would just enjoy the present and look forward to a happy future. I live outside the space time continuum. History doesn’t care about stan wars. Madonna’s musical legacy is safe and well, and will remain so in the history books. As per your quote, nothing takes the past away like the future, and in the future her music will be what will stand the test of time, and not what a petty fan on a message board thinks. If it isnt true ask any Gen Z kids if they know any Madonna songs. This doesn’t only apply to her but also Gaga in the future. It’s basically just reality and we just have to accept it. But within their circle of people from stylists, makeup artists & mutual friends in LA theres really bound to be gossip passed around. Maybe that’s why Gaga chose to distance herself from her and the other pop girls circa 2008 to 2011

There doesn't seem to be any more bad blood between them but no one can deny that Madonna ALWAYS had an attitude problem Cher is there since such a long time yet she bashed nearly no other artist along the decades but Madonna. I also remember Madonna being so annoyed at super stressed/impressed foreign interviewers for mispronouncing one word in English. She really was rude then changed then went nasty again with Gaga... Too bad.
Guillaume Hamon 6,531
And Bowie was actually nice to Gaga. He wrote back after she tried to meet him thanking her for the cake saying he couldn't meet her since he wasn't there for the given day. There's no proof he dismissed her as some Gaga haters pretended back then to make her look like some wannabe bowie despised by her idol...

Especially about people praising her for being kind?…I never said anything about that. Is saying things fans don’t like about gaga the same as “being mean to her”? My comment wasn’t defending hate, but trying to highlight other’s perspective. This fan base has such a “any Gaga take I disagree with is hateful lies” mentality. Snap out of it. Apart from those handful of celebrities mentioned nearly everyone else loves and respects her. Can’t win them all! And when you rise to fame so quickly you will attract some negative attention.
