Since the Oscars she has like 10 viral tweets a day, we love to see the GP acknowledging her kindness

Unpopular opinion...there is some validity to the tweet (esp. about Madonna) but some of the fans who paint Gaga as the eternal victim who is hated by legends do her no favors. It just opens her up for a twitter dragging due to the hyperbolic nature and/or gives haters ammunition or starts another stan war. I think the sl*t shaming, sexism, and the awful transphobic rumors were a lot more awful....

And I'd note that A LOT of legends do love Gaga and the handful of legends who shaded her had a history (for the most part) of shading many celebrities (like Grace, she is an icon, but she has also literally trashed nearly every major female musician of the past two decade...and one of the infamous quotes where people thought she was going after Gaga (she went after Gaga another time) was actually about Mariah).

That tweet is so true. Every artist felt threatened by gaga and treated her bad. Now she isnt feeling threatened but she is happy for younger artists. She knows she had made her mark and is legendary. True kindness queen

I hope the exit is joyful and i hope never to return.

That’s kinda a one sided take :laughga: Because she made a lot of friends like Elton, Sting, Tony, and was met with praise from metal bands she called her idols. Honestly that probably meant more than Madonna and Grace Jone’s opinion, not sure about Bowie but yeah. I don’t even recall Bowie mistreating her either, she’s still obviously dedicated to his craft since she did the tribute and got a tattoo (and he sent her a letter too)

I also do recall her saying she was missing a female mentor when she started out (during the Chromatica era), so I can see the validity with Madonna and other female icons ignoring and trashing her.

Honestly, the "everyone hates Gaga" narrative was kind of overblown. He made some weird but minor comment about her clothing, I believe, and then his son shaded her after his death. I kind of feel because he was so iconic, people overlook in his later days he sl*t shamed and made weird, mildly misogynistic comments about several female artists.

I'm going to get dragged on here...and I love Bowie's music...but I think it's interesting the GP and music fans haven't addressed that multiple folks (including journalists) have mentioned he slept with underage girls and this was up even after her married Iman. A lot of iconic musicians were f*cking creeps who slept with underage girls (I get it was a different time, but still), but the girl that Bowie admitted to sleeping with was FOURTEEN...which was young even by creepy, sleeping with underage girls standards back then. And there's other stuff too, I believe a journalist from The Guardian or something discussed Bowie hitting on his 16 year old friend back in the 90s. If you look it up, there were definitely a few articles but weirdly enough the general media mostly ignored it outside of the 14 year old.

I honestly think if he wasn't so beloved and he had been a POC (and not a white guy) people would have a very different take on him. People would probably still find his music iconic, but would separate the art from the artist.

I remember Madonna support Gaga, she was even on gaga's concert, until born this way song. Then they have feud, but they are both equally mess that time. But now they are on good terms, so let that behind. I remember even Elton said bad things about ARTPOP.

Yup, Cher and Patti LaBelle also praised her way back in the day and still do.  The ones who went after her were Madonna, Grace, Boy George, and Prince (mildly) and....all four had (or have) a history of going after other female artists. Bowie didn't even really ever say anything (and death and his legendary status have sort of sanitized his image, people forget his weird, late in life misogyny and the underage girls)...it was his son.

And honestly, people are entitled to not care for Gaga (and I say this as someone who loves her)...but if a legend has a history of going after multiple artists I don't really see it the same as someone randomly singling Gaga out and unfairly trashing her. Like honestly, Grace hating someone is nothing new.

I still sort of think it was a PR feud that got out of control. Troy was tight with Guy Osrey at the time and there were tons of photos of them together. But yeah, this is why I don't like those sort of tweets because a lot of it is in the past and it just starts stan wars, etc.

I'm glad Gaga is doing the opposite and being super kind to all the young artists in the music industry. It must be so shitty being insulted by your idols, particularly considering she was in her mid 20s back then
