My two cents about last night performance

I despise how her self-proclaimed fans are really her worst critics. I don't think you can't make a critical judgment about a performance, song, video, etc., but I think you guys are OVER-SCRUTINIZING EVERYTHING. To the point that I think you guys are absolutely incapable of enjoying the immense artistry that Gaga manages to put on stage at every opportunity. I say this as a fan who doesn't "buy" each and every one of his idol's ideas and projects (those who know me know this very well). But I am very capable of recognizing talent when there is talent. And here there is talent, a huge and enormous talent, which is no longer to be found nowadays. I really feel sad for those bitter fans who are not able to witness the legendary status this woman ALREADY REACHED (and at only 36 years old, my god) and who will only be able to see it the day she is gone. It may sound dramatic but it is real. So stop complaining and start enjoying the incredible talent of this true artist. I hope she continues to build on this beautiful legacy and forever move away from the path that her little monsters are forcibly trying to trace for her.

The only complaint I've seen about yesterday is about her make-up, and that's a very fair critic as her two eyebrows had a different shape from each other.FPd-Wh-XHXIAk5w-No.jpg

I think it'd be very fake to praise everything that happens around Gaga/the Haus, fair critic should always be welcomed

It's like she's constantly suspecting something 🤨

I get it, and honestly feel the same way as OP most of the time on GGD - it often feels like a majority of the crew here have more fun nitpicking and critiquing then focusing on discussing the things they DO like.

Like the general public loved the performance, it trended on twitter immediately and everyone is praising her or sharing photos of her with other celebrities from last night :bear: the *only* place I've seen negativity about her performance was in a sh*tty thread on ATRL and... surprise... HERE :awkney:

And of course when you point out the negativity you're told to get over it, that people have the right to say whatever they want, etc. The same users gang up on others and stomp their feet and make it very clear that they're allowed to dislike what she does, blah blah blah... completely ignoring the actual point that negativity is often boring to read :billie:

Anyway word of advice sis: you're fighting a losing battle and you're better off accepting that Gaga has one of the cruelest, most critical fanbases that love to suck the fun out of stanning your fave :glamourpuss: I got over trying to make this place more positive years ago :partysick:

If I can put it simply: during the first 5-7 years of her career, everything Gaga did and named I researched and looked into. I had a newfound appreciation for many different forms of art that she introduced me to, that's how influential and powerful she was to an impressionable teenager like me. Factor in her incredible (and genuine) message of love and equality, she was one of a kind.

Today, everything feels stale and watered down. I rarely have any interest in anything she puts out or promotes. There is a very obvious lack of inspiration and passion, and oddly enough, as messy as ARTPOP's rollout was we still don't have a recent pop era that even matches that (excluding ASIB). Take from that what you will.

Now, as someone that does enjoy Gaga's body of work overall I am always happy to see the praise and admiration she gets. She deserves it after all the hard work she has put into her career and herself; but, in the spirit of being honest it will never not sting to ponder upon all the missed potential in her career. Some 'fans' don't know how to put it into words so they'll nitpick, but in my opinion in the grand scheme of things it was the very drastic shift her career took.

I watched it live.
I absolutely loved it.
I haven’t read any of GGD’s member reactions, so had no idea people were “hating” on it.
But I really couldn’t care. For me it was perfect.
Lesson of the story…… ignore the toxicity of GGD and enjoy Gaga’s work at your own accord. ✌

The hate definitely rubs off. I used to be the same as those people whining about tiny details that others just couldn’t give a damn about.

I thought it was good, but it's also annoying and unrealistic to have this expectation that everything she serves will be absolutely perfect. She's human, it's fine to have varying degrees of excellence in regards to performance. Someone posted a thread ASKING us to rate the performance. All the sudden it became this narrative that we hate Gaga and criticize her every move. Well guess what, superfans who are mature and can have constructive conversations will do so because we have so much content to compare her performances and visuals. It doesn't mean we hate her or think she's bad. It's a sign of maturity to be able to have discussions around your favorite artist without anyone getting offended. Stop making everything a social justice issue. We're all fans here. Just calm down.

Brows should be sisters, not twins. My brows don’t match either, it’s totally fine

If they want flawless perfection then they should stan someone like Beyoncé instead. Gaga has always been an emotional artist that leads with her heart. And that means there will be a certain amount of rawness to whatever she does. That’s what makes her special.

good point but i think we don't know half of what went on behind the scenes with gaga during the transition between born this way and ARTPOP, and how much stress it caused. yes everything she put into her carreer in the first 7 years was very well crafted and thought out, but i just think it's not healthy or doable for almost two decades and i think that's something she realized after ARTPOP
