The demo is superior. The whole “you.were.in.my” is so annoying to me lol also, the bridge in the demo is so damn good.

Honestly, people just have some kind of habit bias, I always hear love about the demos we heard before the final versions and rarely for the demos that leaked after. I was also disappointed when I heard the album versions for the ARTPOP songs, only because I was used to the demos, I was listening to them on repeat because that's all we had back then. But after a few times listening to the album, the final versions grew on me, and going back to the demos, it's clear that the final versions are superior, the production is more complete and more refined. I guess the people who still say they prefer the demos have continued listening to them. It's just that our brains like the feeling of knowing exactly what to expect when we listen to songs we know, and it's uncomfortable when it's a new version because it's different from what we're expecting to hear.

I like both versions but one of the things we have from the demo that isn't on the final version is that synth at the second "Heard your boyfriend was away this weekend". I don't like that they lowered that on the album.

It feels more like a Tame Impala song, not a Gaga song.

I think that's what I like about it, I like the style for Gaga. the album version of PI also doesn't sound like a Gaga song, to be fair. it's certainly an outlier in her discography

I don't think iTunes Festival version or demo were superior. Tbh they called it demo so the mixing definitely won't be very good.

But the live performance version always got much more little detail, yeah it's still raw but because of those small part, I have to force myself re-listen to poor live-quality extra "When we were in the swimming pool-" line, like ugh that part was GORGEROUS.

She overproduced ARTPOP. Sexxx Dreams is THE example.

ARTPOP is perfection, no one will ever convince me otherwise.

The problem with the album version is that it's oversaturated and too loud it ruins the whole production. Something went wrong with mixing and mastering because it was way smoother and clearer as a demo. I mean at some points you can't even hear the drums on the album version!

check out this version :ally: yeah maybe not very complete and the quality is average, but at least it breathes and doesn't make my ears hurt

Do you hear that? It's poison.

I think many people came to know that song from the iTunes fest and we listened to that live version so long and the demo is kind of similar to that version

First time I've heard the demo, and now I think it is better. The softer quiter less busy sound is better with these lyrics and vocals. I didn't even realize the album version had a whoosh track. :fan: The percussion is a bit too loud in the demo, so a little bit of volume leveling of the tracks would've been good. But yeah, the demo is better than the album version.
