the thing was mostly cause the kpop fans would inflate the sells, it would have still be shortlived but yeah the numbers would still be big even if only frontloaded

yeah exactly, this is what I mean. 100% it would be frontloaded, and it's likelier than not it would've gone the way of SL and ROM (neither had longevity and started to slide down the chart immediately after their peak).

but it would've at least been guaranteed a high debut and more exposure for the album, which is what a single's supposed to do, so it just kinda shocks me they passed up what seems to be a pretty clear slam dunk

I think the biggest missed opportunity was not pushing INLA or ARUTW :bradley:

1000%! ARUTW had the potential to be as big as Shallow and INLA may have not been as big but definitely a gauranteed success :stalkga:

OT: definitely, I thought it would without a doubt have a music video considering BP was involved, it would've done very well imo

Definitely would have done better than Stupid Love and 911

So?? Sour Candy is filler, pure and simple. It's a BP SONG featuring Lady Gaga.

Gaga has a soft spot for Asian girl groups. Her BFF is Korean-American. The girls are gorgeous and talented. And sure, BLINKS would do all the work buying and streaming, monsters get half the credit doing nothing. So??

ROM is also a collab, but it's a beautiful CODA to an album about mental illness: she's alive, and doing as well as can be. It's the best song on Chromatica.

A Very Gaga Holida

Her biggest missed opportunities are Eh Eh (yes it is, like it or not), Starstruck, Always Remember Us This Way and Is That Alright, but Sour Candy is a missed opportunity as well

JoeMo

Absolutely, and even if it didn’t make number 1 it would definitely have been a hit.
