Gaga when Camille says good morning:

I’m still so pressed this frame of her sipping the coffee wasn’t in the actual film. :toofunny:

Yeah. Benedict Cumberbatch also stayed in character for The Power of the Dog and he made an agreement not to speak with his co-stars but everything Gaga says is amplified as we know.

As did Meryl Streep, who famously stayed in character while filming The Devil Wears Prada (2006), brushing off co-stars Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway.

“It was horrible!” Streep admitted. “I was [miserable] in my trailer. I could hear them all rocking and laughing. I was so depressed! ... That’s the last time I ever attempted a method thing!" 🙂

Gaga was being a cringe-fest throughout her Gucci press run.

That had nothing to do with her performance, which I thought was good in a badly written and directed movie.

Cringe?? Her fans had no problem when Gaga showed up at the 2011 Grammys in her egg ("VESSEL") and talked about her "creative embryonic incubation," spending 72 hours in her vessel...

Now some of those fans act like critics from Time, etc., who mocked her back then and insisted she was making things up... I doubt she was lying back then, or now.

Gaga is a METHOD actor. HoG is her second movie, her first playing a real person, and she stayed in character the whole time! She had a psychiatric nurse on set, just to be safe. (I bet Ridley was relieved.)

We've heard from poor Adam, Camille, Jared, and Frederic. Why is it so hard to believe??

HoG is Gaga's second movie. She's as passionate about her acting process, or talking about her creative process, as she was back in 2010/2011.

Now her fans want her to CENSOR herself. Where's the fun in that? 🙂

From a fan perspective, HOG interviews destroy ASIB's snooze fest though

I agree. She gave Bradley ALL the credit during the press tour for ASIB. She was depressed at the time, probably thought she didn't deserve any credit.

Remember all those think pieces... "Lady Gaga Needs to STOP Giving Bradley Cooper All the Credit for A Star Is Born!" 🙂

By contrast, she sounded like her old self on the Gucci press tour. She was passionate. She talked about her research and acting process. She praised Ridley but gave herself credit. She's back!

Babel

She has always been this committed to her characters. It was no different with music. People complaining probably won’t remember her Candy Warhol interviews, her FAME perfume persona, etc.

I don't even know how this has anything to do with what I said. Apples and oranges, but sure. Have a good day.

This is actually a pretty funny story. :ladyhaha:

Neither are that entertaining, all actors sound rehearsed while they're selling their films to the masses. One came out better than the other though, preferences aside.

But it's not just that  ASIB is simply considered a great movie unlike HOG, which nearly everybody agreed to say she saved

Did she also star as a nurses in Marry The Night music video because I swear she looks like someone in one of Gaga's videos

I think method acting - while a valid technique - can come off as a bit 'pretentious', especially to the GP. Nothing wrong with that, but people might think "Okay, good for you" and so it could get annoying for them if someone keeps talking about that. People just want to enjoy a good performance and mostly don't care much about the method used behind it.

I don't get the Vessel thing though. That was a personal piece of art that fitted her persona perfectly at that time. It's what made her really unique.
