What was Fashion + Vanity?

Watching the academy claimed movie, Finland’s timeless treasure: Confessions of a Shopaholic and was wondering if Fashion was ever included on Fame Monster? Or was it always a one off track? Weird since it came out after Bad Romance blew up?

Also Vanity was on Beastly which came out in 2011, weird for it to be featured since wasn’t it a bonus track for FM and BTW had already been out?

Fashion was made for the soundtrack of the movie, not for her own album.

Vanity was on certain editions of the album. According to Gagapedia: "The song appeared as track eleven on the U.S. advance promo edition of The Fame. This version was issued some time in the Spring or Summer of 2008 before the album release. This feature was the only CD release the song got. The song was later originally planned to be track eight on the UK version of The Fame, however, it was cut due to the jazzy sound."

“Cut due to the jazzy sound”

Fashion was created with RedOne. It was used for a movie and it was bought by Heidi Montag for her album.

Yeah. Like a lot of Gaga’s early songs, they were uploaded to MySpace as a way to get herself out there. She also did this with ‘Again, Again’ among others.

The song was then included on the advanced copy of The Fame, as stated above. This works almost like an album sampler, given to critics I assume to generate buzz for the artists debut record. Lana Del Rey did this with Born To Die, and a french album sampler was sent to French radios and critics that included upwards of 20 songs that she considered for the album.

Finally, as a gift for fans Vanity was made available as a digital download for those who bought tickets.

Both shoulda been on the fame TBFH. They clearly fit perfectly

They fit the "Fame" theme but honestly I don't think the album needed any more songs, it's great as it is. They should've scrapped Summerboy while we're at it lol or move it to the deluxe tracks.

The Fame has 14 songs... 14!!! VANITY WILL MAKE IT 15, AND THATS PERFECT

You already got your answer but I wanted to join the Vanity praise and stan the fact that it got a performance at TMB. What a cute solid bop.

Both are such good little pop bops.

You already have your answers but I’ll add to it.  I’m pretty sure you had to buy your Monster Ball tickets through Virgin to get a link to Vanity emailed to you?  I think that was what you had to do in the U.K. anyway :ladyhaha:

Depending on your region, you’ll find either Gaga or Heidi’s version of Fashion on the Confessions soundtrack.

I think there should still be a site that’ll let you “time travel” to Gaga’s MySpace page and you can see what she had uploaded.  When I checked years ago, most of the songs no longer played but it was cool to see.
