Frederic Aspiras: “We were literally with Patrizia every single day"

The singer stars as Patrizia Reggiani in House of Gucci and stayed in character for three months on the set, speaking only in an Italian accent.

Make-up artist Frederic Aspiras has revealed Gaga’s method acting was just as alarming as it sounds.

Frederic says: “We were literally with Patrizia every single day. Towards the end, when she started to get unhinged, it was quite terrifying. But it was magnificent to watch a performer transform before your eyes.”

Gaga admits: “My family were very upset with me they had to deal with me every day in the trailer."
“I had to love her to play her. She is someone that committed murder but she is also a strong Italian woman. She came from a strong family and she had good values until she lost her way. I wanted to tap into the way women are multi-dimensional complicated creatures. We should be showed in our complexity.”

I love how method she is, but I do hope she's able to separate her personal life and art more in her future acting roles AND music projects.

thats just weird, sorry. she should stop doing that

if ur getting to a point where in her words; "My family were very upset with me they had to deal with me every day in the trailer." then its time to reevaluate your acting methods

i must say, as someone who finally watched the movie today, gaga did a superb job evolving her character from a young, fun, loving woman to a status obsessed, bitter, run down criminal who at the very last minute insisted she be called Gucci :applause:

mother, what must i do?

I'm glad Gaga  takes her work seriously as an actor, but this role in particular didn't seem to merit any method acting.

As much as I respect Gaga’s love and dedication, I truly hope she won’t have to constantly pick dark roles that wrecked her like Gucci

Was it really worth it? :iamfair:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Honestly, Frederic clearly means well and is her friend but after all the press backlash...maybe describing her as unhinged was not the best way of describing it even if it was true? Then again, I can easily see the press twisting his words and he might have been referring to the unhinged moment of the character.

Yes? It’s only her second movie and it instantly became the highest earning drama of the past two years and she was nominated for even more awards than ASIB (except for the Oscar) :glamourpuss:

Yes, strong Italian women are murderers. Because strong people murder other people.

Sit the **** down.
