when do we think gaga’s next acting role will be announced?

it feels weird thinking about this now, but i think a lot of us assumed that a new gaga tv/film role would be announced in the next few months and that she would probably film something at some point this year. do we still think that’s the case?

it’s wild…a week or two ago (even after the oscar snub) i would’ve told you gaga’s next acting role was imminent and that was the focus, but now i’m thinking she might be done with that for a few years? 

i’m very very excited by this turn of events, just surprised (especially based on the way gaga was talking about her singing career during the gucci press tour lol). and those twitter accounts that said 15 dates said that before the snub i’m pretty sure, so i don’t think that caused some giant pivot or anything like that. i guess it was the plan all along to spend the rest of the year focused on jazz & piano in the spring and chromatica ball in the summer and fall. 

wow we really were clowns for thinking gaga was going to be spending most of her time on acting going forward weren’t we!! all those meltdowns from some for nothing lmao. 

i love either/all directions and can’t wait to see what comes next.

and lol watch now that i’ve posted this a deadline article will come out tomorrow with some new fun commercial role

ASIB was released in fall 2018 and we got the HOG casting news in fall 2019. So we might hear something at the end of this year?

I don't think she'll take a break from acting. I imagine she'll start prepping for her next role after the tour and shoot it next year.

i wouldnt be surprised if her next acting role was something on broadway or theatre... or even opera.

Probably after awards season....so no sooner than May. IDK, she did a lot circa 2016-2019 in terms of filming, touring, Vegas, awards season, etc.....but then we found out her mental health was really low at that point and we know she has health issues. So I'm assuming she won't do a big, starring role until after Chromatica Ball because prepping for the tour + the tour itself will take a lot out of her physically....

Then again, a lot of times role aren't announced way in advance...so it could be after TCB. Also I'm delulu and thought a new album would drop this spring/summer, so what do I know lol?

idk why but i have a weird feeling broadway will be when she’s just a bit older. based entirely on my own thoughts (lol), i really see her next role being TV or a more light-hearted film role. i really think that whatever she does next won’t be the type of thing that will lead to an oscar campaign…maybe just more commercial movies for a bit and an hbo mini series that gets our queen her emmy. then in my head she’ll get a tony at like age 40 and the acting oscar will be last when she’s a bit older.

Forgive me if I’m wrong, but I think those health issues weren’t a result of being over worked but because of the trial / her PTSD (which then impacted her mentally and physically). While I don’t expect her to announce a new role soon I wouldn’t put it past her to do it while she’s doing dozens of other projects, because that seems to be the way she works.

i also think when gaga is telling stories she mixes up dates a lot, so we should take the timing of things with a grain of salt. was it in the netflix doc while recording joanne that she said the born this way ball was the last time she was in front of cameras (as if the ARTPOP eta didn’t exist)? lol

 

but yeah i guess now that i think about it in 2017 she did the super bowl, coachella, filmed ASIB, did the ASIB soundtrack, and toured joanne. i guess after all the “i was patrizia for a year and a half” or whatever stuff we’re thinking things take up more of her time than they maybe do lol.
