Isnt this the 2nd time he reacted really badly? Like didnt he before say something like "someone owes me an explanation"? After he didnt win nods or something?

 

Like i dont know its never fair when an artists work is snubbed (tho thats inevitable given so many releases and limited wins) but having a tendency to react like that to me screams entitlement or an ego

You are right, I literally have nothing to add to what I have said. 

I obviously love Gaga and I honestly loved her performance, the movie itself not so much.

The reason why I did not reply further is beacuse essentially we have different opinions and with no intention to offend you, I just found it funny that you think the comparison between Gaga's Oscar snub and the Weeknd's Grammy one here was necessary , thus my react.

I feel differently. Thanks to the Weeknd's temper tantrums, the (alleged) CORRUPT "nominations review committees" were ELIMINATED in April 2021. 

It was too late for Chromatica, Gaga's most personal and best-reviewed album to date, but just in time for LOVE FOR SALE (6 nominations including AOTY and ROTY)! 😍

Chromatica deserved more than 2 genre nominations. I bet Gaga was upset. I was. And twitter stans dragged her for not thanking the Recording Academy... They're funny.

Fun fact: Now that all Artists and Featured Artists, all Songwriters, Producers, Recording Engineers, Mixers and Mastering Engineers could earn an nomination for AOTY, some 200+ participants are nominated for Justin's Justice, and Kanye's Donda. 🙂

I disagree. The 2021 Grammys (voted on by "secret" nominations review committees) and the 2022 Oscars (voted on by individual voting members) are NOT the same. There's no comparison. 

You can't expect individual Oscar voters to vote for you, just because similar organizations have voted for you.

However, you CAN complain if the former president and CEO of the Recording Academy alleged that the "secret committees" who voted on the Grammy nominations are CORRUPT. Simple as that.

For the record, the Weeknd complained in November 2020 about the (alleged) CORRUPT "Nominations Review COMMITTEES."

(Thanks in part to the Weeknd, the committees were eliminated in 2021.) 🙂

He complained about the "SECRET committees," whose job was to review a longlist of 15 to 20 nominees in most categories (including the Big Four, and genre fields, POP, R&B, etc.), before whittling them down to the 5 or 8 artists (now 10). He had his sources.

Remember ousted Recording Academy president and CEO Deborah Dugan alleged in January 2020 that voting for the Grammys was "ripe with corruption?"

According to her, some committee members pushed artists they have relationships with onto the ballot. The board could nominate people who DIDN'T even make the longlist.

She alleged that certain songs or albums were nominated when the Grammy PRODUCER wanted a particular song performed during the show. One of the nominated artists who'd initially ranked 18 out of 20 was allowed to sit on the SOTY committee. And so on. 

What happened once the "nominations review committees" were eliminated in 2021?

Jon Batiste got 11 nominations, including AOTY and SOTY. Love for Sale, a jazz album, 6 nominations, includung AOTY and ROTY. Taylor's evermore, 0 nominations.

Evermore was nominated for AOTY after the Recording Academy decided at the last minute to expand the number of nominees in the Big Four categories from 8 to 10.
