and I still don’t understand his reaction, After Hours was very successful, but it wasn’t like the most acclaimed album of the year or something. I mean, if Kendrick can’t win album of the year with his “genius” album (regarded by many), then I’m not surprised by anything.

blinding lights had broke records on BB hot100 so that was surprising to me that it was snubbed

And grammys had some excuses about they had not known if they should put him in pop or r&b category, which to me is a bit weird because blinding lights is definitely a pop song :partysick:

After Hours was not talked about being the album of the year that much BUT Blinding Lights was definitely the song of 2020 and still in 2021 was still going strong. Just think of Rolling In The Deep not getting a nomination way back then, that's how ridiculous it is.

Not a great comparison to be made considering After Hours was like the biggest album of the year - both critically acclaimed and commercially successful . Yes, raking an acting performance is quite different than ranking music but still, in my opinion the Weekend's was an obvious and deliberate snub at the Grammys, Gaga's was different.

Maybe this is just a glitch or something, seems weird for someone at the Grammys to randomly decide to get rid of his stats, as if it actually does anything

He probably shipped back the grammy's and asked to be removed.

Gaga was literally the only best actress contender to be nominated for all the important precursors this year. And even commercially, her movie made more money than all the other contenders combined. Her snub was equally if not more obvious and deliberate.

that’s what his crybaby a$$ get, don’t get me wrong, his first tweet about the snub was necessary, and then he just kept going on about it for like 3 months in his interviews and MVs and i was like ok maam i thought you was no longer craving validation from them:koons:

Gaga is not only humble but also smart.

she knows her chances are not over with one movie.

she have a full long career ahead of her and it's not only pointless but also short sighted to make such a big deal for not being nominated for ONE album.

when Tay didn't get a nomination for REP she said "it doesn't matter because i will make a better album" and BOOM, sistren sweeped 2 years later.

I totally agree with you, but also it’s not comparable. While HOG was very big, it wasn’t THE best of the year, and although largely expected, her nomination wasn’t written on the wall. And Oscars are more multi-dimensional than Grammys. And Taylor’s reputation was… well, literally the least reputable album from hers. The Weekend’s tantrum, while not being smart, was objectively understandable and correct cuz he had THE song of year, potentially of the decade. It wasn’t just a career defining album for him, but a time defining album in music in general. Commercially, artistically, critically it was the biggest. So him not being nominated wasn’t just a hit and miss, it was a deliberate act to intentionally not nominate him.

Not this being further down the page:

The Weeknd earned his first career GRAMMY wins for 2015, including Best Urban Contemporary Album for Beauty Behind The Madness. He made his GRAMMY stage debut at the 58th GRAMMY Awards, performing a medley of "Can't Feel My Face" and "In The Night."

And you can literally see all his nominations still lol.

Just remove him from the site...
