Gaga on IG: I’m praying for Ukraine

Um... she's not a world leader. This issue is way bigger than her. She doesn't have to be in the forefront of anything here.

She stands with Ukraine, that's what's important. Ridiculous to complain about this.

It is a little cringe, but frankly it could have been a lot worse and other celebrities have been more cringe. She means well.

If monsters shut up about this on twitter no one will give a sh*t-because there are far more important things going on in the world right now-but watch twitter monsters blow up a cringey but well meaning post and get Gaga dragged yet again.

She can be held accountable. No one can “hide” this.

And before y’all say “what are you doing?!” There’s a bit of a difference between me doing something and wealthy celebrities.

I still stan and love her but her idea of “peace and hearts” won’t do much at all. Share resources, share information, share aid. Don’t post a selfie talking about her privilege of making others smile today and she’s hoping her smiles and prayers will help the citizens being uprooted into violence.

As civilians from other countries we cannot go to the battlefield to fight. What can we say/do to end the war? Except praying for the people and reminding them the power of love and kindness?

And knowing Gaga for more than a decane, I'm pretty sure she's not one of the celebrities who just talk the talk. I'm 1000% confident she's donating to organizations.

And what is love and kindness going to do for the citizens in Ukraine?

Well... I think she SHOULD get a bit dragged for this :haroon:

Oh come on. She's not posting Avengers memes about Zelensky nor is she pretending to be Putin's mother or saying "love can heal the world." This isn't even circa 2015, where she posted that cringey thing about asking people to educate her on BLM.

Tons of people offer prayers; it's a mildly tone deaf comment at worst. Posting a selfie is more cringe than the actual words. Some of you expect way too much out of celebrities....this is why so many shut up or say nothing at all.

Damned if you, damned of you dont.

LM1: Omg we havent heard anything from Gaga for a whole month. She needs to update her red carpet look

LM2: Why has she not addressed the war with Ukraine and Russia

*Gaga does both*

LM1: why is she sending a selfie and saying something cringe.

LM2: Why is she saying "smile to your heart." I fully expect her to post about the geopolitical landscape of Ukraine and send millions of money to aid Ukraine and to win at SAG awards while on the red carpet tonight.

:saladga::toofunny: Some of you all need a hobby. Celebrities aren't super heroes. As much exposure and awareness they can bring, they don't have an obligation to follow the script you want them to say from your head. She is in an awards show. She probably tweeted this and thought about it for 2 minutes.

If literally anyone else said... whatever this is, this site would be up in arms, like I love Gaga but she needs to realize the love and kindness thing does NOT work under every circumstance ever.

Y’all said the same thing when she was wishing for kindness during the covid times but as soon as it was revealed that she donated millions, everyone shut up :partysick:

If she thought about it that little, then why even post it?

And we are on a Gaga site to discuss things. It’s insensitive. We aren’t being “overdramatic”

and then we all ate our words and shut the **** up about it. I know to accept when I'm wrong, sis, but that doesn't change the fact that that post is tone deaf.

So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted.

She's not even saying love and kindness. Lordy, if she actually said that I could at least understand some of the anger. Sending smiles to hearts is cringe but pretty much the equivalent of sending good thoughts...but it's not as bad as "love and kindness" can heal the world type of BS.

Also got to reiterate fans are making way too big of a deal of this and wanting her to get dragged over a mildly tone deaf comment and saying she needs to be held accountable...well the media/twitter should focus on more important things than a celebs kind of tone deaf comment. And again, a lot of celebs have said far, far more tone deaf sh*t than Gaga's prayers (and people keep leaving out the prayers bit to focus only on the cringe bit).

She probably sent them a big fat cheque already. What’s the harm in wishing for kindness ON TOP of that?

In case you missed it, funds are not the main problem here. Donations are very helpful. But it's not like Ukraine is falling behind because of lack of money in fighting against Russia. The Ukrainian president has made it very clear that financial aids are not the thing that he primarily wants. They already have it coming. It's arms and troops they are kacking. Again, I'm not saying donations aren't necessary at all. They are the most we can do as civilians.

She has always been cringy. This is her norm. That's why I said damned if she didn't post and damned if she don't.

Why even post it? Cause it is is her account? :ladyhaha:she doesn't need to ask you or me permission to post or not lol.

Meh, providing links to resources to find aid would be a good start. I just think this could have been much better worded
