Unsure if you're serious or not (honestly either side of that argument is valid, depending on your stance), but I do feel like this album will hold more importance and impact in however many years time when Tony passes. Does that make sense?

I feel it will be reflected on as his last project and triumph, and it will be then that the album will receive the praise and attention it deserves. Maybe not so much impactful for Gaga personally, but I guess she shares the legacy and impact with Tony.

I agree with everything you said 100%! I just think when you look at Gaga's albums as a whole, it would be the least important only because all the others mark more importance for her artistry.

If we HAD to pick one.

Chromatica, I can't see anything different that would have happened without it.

The Fame obviously launched her.

The Fame Monster helped cement her artistry, revealed her crazier and darker side to the public and brought a lot of fans.

Born this Way helped spread her message of self-love and acceptance, particularly for gay people.

ARTPOP negatively impacted her and the public's opinion of her but it helped her shift her career differently, for the better.

Cheek to Cheek was her real introduction to a lot of people who thought she was just a talentless pop singer, and realized she could actually sing, she also appealed to other generations.

Joanne also did that, a lot of people realized she could sing and write songs that were not just dance pop music, she made songs people related to.

ASIB continued that on an even larger scale, a lot of people got into her because of the movie.

Chromatica... I really can't see the impact it had

Love for sale... I can't really see it either, except maybe the people who thought she did one jazz album just to prove herself after ARTPOP got proven wrong.

i love chromatica with all my heart but i feel like its had like no effect on her career good or bad :fatcat:

for me:

the fame got her famous

fame monster got her really famous

btw got her really really famous

ARTPOP got her cancelled

c2c got her image back a bit

joanne got her the superbowl (even though its her worst)

 asib got her an oscar

...and chromatica got her oreos

For now... Chromatica.

But she might prove us wrong with the Chromatica Ball

Kind regards

Least impact? Chromatica for sure, all other albums had a certain impact on her career, no matter if good or bad impact.

The Fame: launched her career
TFM: solidified her status as a main pop girl
BTW: put her in a position of LGBTQ+/people who feel different icon
ARTPOP: The "flop" of this album made her rethink her entire career and what are really her priorities as an artist
Joanne: Showed her versatility and I'd say that even Million Reasons itself made a lot of people see Gaga's talent
Chromatica: ??

The only right answer is LFS, that album didn't do anything. Chromatica still gave her another #1 pop track and helped people in the first lockdown.

It's my fav along with BTW, but clearly Chromatica is the least important. No tour (for now), only 1 TV performance, 2 singles and 3 MVs, she doesn't even talk about it...

Either ARTPOP or Chromatica.

The Fame pioneered the rise of dance/electronic/synthpop.

TFM made the darkpop fashionable.

BTW was gay bible.

Joanne co-pioneered the "vocal era" of country-rock sound in pop music.

This brings us down to

Some people credit the popularity of disco in 2020 to Chromatica but it initially started with Don't Start Now and Say So. Although ROM did contribute to the phase.

ARTPOP was outrageous in respect to the extreme performative aspect. It sort of put an end to the phase in pop music that celebrated artifice. That is important, but I'm not sure if it was positively so.
