The family of comedian Bob Saget wants a Florida judge to prohibit the release of any photos, video or other records related to the investigation into his death, saying that doing so would cause them irreparable pain.

Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, and his three daughters, filed a lawsuit on Tuesday in Orlando, Florida, asking a state judge for a ruling that would prohibit the release of any records from the local medical examiner’s office and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office involving the probe into Saget’s death.

Saget, 65, was found dead Jan. 9 in a room at the Ritz Carlton in Orlando. He had performed in the area the night before as part of a stand-up tour.

The medical examiner said last week that Saget had died from an accidental blow to the head, likely from a backwards fall. An autopsy report showed that Saget had an abrasion on his scalp, a fracture at the base of his skull, fractures around his eye sockets, bleeding between the brain and tissue covering the brain as well as bruises to the brain. A toxicology analysis didn’t show any illicit drugs or toxins in Saget’s body.

During the course of the autopsy and death investigation, the medical examiner’s office and sheriff’s office created graphic videos and photos of Saget’s body, as well as audio recordings. Such records are prohibited by state law from being released publicly, but some media outlets have already filed requests for them, according to the family’s lawsuit.

Omg what happened to him? That’s so sad and scary

Candace Cameron Bure talked a bit ago about how when they went to hotels he loved to jump into beds, I assume he jump on the bed at a really really bad angle and probably hit a corner of some kind of headboard which caused a hemorrhage in the brain.

Sounds very severe though,

one doctor said head trauma appeared consistent with taking a baseball bat to the skull or falling 20 to 30 feet

Is sag jumping onto a bed, directly in a crack, could definitely cause a fracture/shatter or the skull that messed up his head further than why really happened ya know?

there’s no fowl play suspected or anything weird, no drugs in his system, nada so I don’t think anything other than a freak accident happened unless something comes out soon.

Unless he jumped into bed and literally the headboard or a painting fell on him, that's not enough to do that type of damage though. We will find out one day I'm sure.

Freak accidents like this are so scary. I read once about a woman who was cooking and somehow fell on her knife and died. They thought it was a homicide but turned out to be a total accident.

Yeah something's not right here. How would this happen alone in your hotel room unless you set something up for a su*c*de??

Most of the injury points on that chart seem to be secondary internal effects from the physical impact (like the bruising in the front of the brain, subdural hematoma, etc.). I'm certainly not a doctor so take what I say with a grain of salt, but it seems like the two primary injuries are the breaks in the back and the orbital bones. If he fell hard enough on first impact, it's feasible he could have sustained the other break in a subsequent fall. Like if he fell backward onto the headboard, got knocked out, and then rolled off the side of the bed and hit the front of his head on a nightstand coming down. That's how I interpret it as an accident.
